how much training do you need to know that there are cameras on the streets of a major sporting event? that as you set down a bomb, there are people taking pictures everywhere? security cameras everywhere.
that you might want to have an escape plan afterward?
regardless of training, there is some serious basic common thinking that didn't appear to happen. these fuckers had some college, the things listed above are not rocket science and don't take training.Comment

That last line says it all. This is not a trained person. The plan was simple which is good. They executed which obviously shows they were competent but after that it breaks down pretty fast.
DWB mentions that they were armed but that might have been an after thought once the shit was hitting the fan as the photos were coming out as to who was of interest and if you saw yourself, you would probably do something. Oddly they didn't jump in a car and drive like hell.Comment

According to CNN after killing a cop they hijacked a Mercedes SUV and drove around with the owner to ATMs to get money.
They clearly didn't think this through. Seems they figured they wouldn't be identifiable because they partially continued their normal life after the bombing.
Everything they did is easily available on the Internet. And we all know how easy it is to get a bunch of guns.
Which on its own is worrying cause really anyone could replicate it. Again I am surprised they didn't do they usual suicide attack because its basically impossible to get away with some like this because everyone has a fuckin video camera on their phone these days. Setting aside the fact that they are from an area that is a breeding ground for terrorists, you don't really need much training to build a bomb from a pressure cooker.
You can tell they didn't have much training. They just thought they would place two bombs and on one would ever be any wiser and that they would never get caught. Other than hats, they didn't even try to disguise themselves.Herschel Savage

New flash sport...the majority of police officers are not "highly trained.". Even Swat Teams are not "highly" trained but they are better trained than a regular officer.Yea, because photos of people walking down the street with backpacks on are a clear indication of who has had any sort of training or not.
They were considered dangerous enough to have over 10,000 highly "trained" people with guns weapons hunting them and none of them had any idea what they were going to be up against. But you have it all figured out.

Even if that was the case - logic dictates that they should have split town and done bombing #2 in another city, then again split town to another one.

Well, that would make since normally but you're thinking like someone who isn't an extremist. The plan may have been to get caught and blow themselves up, only it didn't go as planned. The plan may have been to just keep going until they get caught or killed.
The fact that the one kid walked through with his hat backwards totally showing his face, says he wasn't worried at all. That probably means one thing, he knew he was going to die.
These whack job extremists think all sorts of crazy things, so there is no telling what the plan was and why they didn't flee. I'm still holding onto to the idea that they were not finished, and that is why they still have explosives and stayed in the area. Maybe they thought they would have more time, or were committed to going out as martyr, which is an honor for Muslim radicals, which they may or may not be. Unless this guy speaks, we'll never know. Hell, they could have been just two guys pissed off about paying taxes and didn't think any part of this through at all.Comment
