yeah, 12 years ago their parents and the younger brother were granted asylum - that application should have been stamped with a big 'DENIED'. if it had been, 4 people would be alive today and lots of others would have legs and feet still.

Years ago a friend of mine in Phoenix became a US citizen, and much to my surprise he asked me to attend his swearing in ceremony. I was glad I went.

Some of the people there are given the opportunity to speak and it was very, very moving. These people left their home countries for whatever reason, some of them with only the clothes on their backs, and came to the US and went to college, started families, opened up businesses, and lead very productive lives.

I am glad your brought it up. I thought I was the only one that thought the Uncle is sane and we need more immigrants like him.

On the other hand the immigration issue in Canada is really out of control.
