Newbie legal business name question

Hello, all. I'm in the process of finally trying to launch an adult site and have most everything I need. I've read and researched but cannot find the answer to this question: why do the parent legal business names of any given site exist in name only? Beyond the obvious answer of anonymity, is there any other reason for this practice since it seems to be such a standard operation procedure?
I've never looked up "such-and-such media" and seen so much as a simple landing page to the effect of "we shoot porn" or even "we produce digital media".. What are the pros or cons or reasonings for this so that I don't make any regrettable newbie mistakes?

It's pretty simple, most people don't want the world to know they work on pornography. Humans are judgmental assholes typically. I personally never tell anyone what my work is until I know they won't judge me, this usually takes at least a couple weeks for new people I might befriend. To anyone else, internet marketing and web development, if they want specifics I say diet pills, muscle pills, ect.

You should setup as an LLC when starting out, itll offer you a lot of protections that you simply wont have as a sole trader, or even a partnership when it comes to the legal side of the business.

The cost to set up on sunbiz.org is around $125 then if you ever want to branch out into various other businesses, just register a fictitious business name to your LLC for $50 a pop.

Thank you for the reply and advice. I am familiar with sunbiz.org, but what would be the additional benefit of going that route rather than just getting an EIN for "blah-blah media, llc" since nothing more is going to become of said registered name other than simply registering it as an llc?

Because the fact you have an LLC will mean if you ever get sued, get into bad debt or anything else while operating the business, will mean your personal assets are not able to be used as collateral for the business in legal proceedings.
