for those of you doing the fruit ones? You will gain weight.. There's more sugar in those than a milk shake in some of them. I lost 40 lbs by not eating fruit instead..

I have lost 50+ lbs since I started juicing. :2 cents:

And while you say nutrients are lost because there is no absorption, I say nutrients are lost because your body still has to break down the pulp.

Great, I was concerned you might be one of those vegan nuts

Well, the first was from http://www.eatrockefeller.com/ I suspect it was less than $10

The second was from http://www.tortillacantina.com/ Maybe $5?

The last was from http://schooneratsunset.com/ and probably $10

baddog, do you juice them or use a blender to make smoothies?

Sarah_Jayne 04-18-2013 01:19 PM

You all need to see how Tofu eats to understand how in shock his body is going to be from sudden nutrition.

I have been interested in juicing too but I have to keep really strict calories or my weight loss starts to reverse and I've worried about drinking my calories rather than eating them.

nutrients are carried by the fibre though... by squeezing the water out of them you get minimal amounts from the juice itself.. somewhat better than supplements but mostly an inefficient method as opposed to just eating vegetables. Good place to start if you have health problems and want to improve eating habits though no doubt about that.

He is getting better. He cooks for himself a lot now and I am proud of him for it but he has probably had more chicken strips than most other human beings.

Occasionally. Nowadays, I cook my own food and have been eating more
veggies, so don't let Sarah Jayne lie to you. :winkwink:

I still eat high fat foods, though. I'm trying to eat a little better.

Baby steps, right?

I think you are confused as to how much pulp is extracted. There is plenty; besides, that isn't our entire diet, it is one meal a day.

Just a thought - wouldn't blending them would be better choice? You would eat everything that way, instead of just liquid juice.

Depends who you talk to; depends on your goals. I vote no.
