I read elsewhere the bombs were in black duffle bags, not the tan/brown grocery bag that you see highlight in the first pic.
Additionally, even though it says that you can see the bag is no longer there in the second pic, the area where the bag would be (had it remained in its exact position) is blurred, but even with the blur, I still see that tan/brown color in that area behind the blurring.

i don't think that's the bag that did it.. if you see the fence, it's bent around the mail box
but the bag is in front of the fence, whereas that damage should have had the bag behind
plus there is no damage at all to the tree, fence, and mail box
very strange.Comment

The FBI has said that the bombs were built using pressure cookers. That's actually pretty damn near the size of what a pressure cooker would be.
The thing I don't get, is how would no one even look inside the bag if it was left un-attended.

well, certainly whatever it was is in that pic right? man, it sure looks like that could be it, i don't want to jump to conclusions. the news earlier said the bombs were in pressure cookers, that looks about right for a pressure cooker in that bag to me, again, i'm just venting over the situation, i'm going to wait for the authorities, with all the csi tech they have, they'll get it sorted out.Comment

I heard an interview with one of the video teams. They are analyzing bags and backpacks in all the available footage and then tagging them. Along with other characteristics they said they can then track the movement of that individual throughout the city using all available footage.

After seeing the picture on the front page of CBSnews, I think it's pretty certain that bag was one of the bombs. This picture is showing the exact same spot that the investigators are concentrating on.

Those two pics (or vid frames?) were shot on tripod - the camera didn't move at all between the two shots.
I find the composition somewhat odd. If the camera was set up to record runners as they neared the finish line, (as a cameraman) I'd think the camera would be pointed downwards more to cover more of the street and runners. In those two frames - the camera seems more centered on the mailbox/bag and crowd in front of The Forum.
Unless the pics have been cropped to center that area more?Comment
