Suggests to me that the price is not gonna go below $50 going forward but I'm pretty new to this
The whole things fucked for the little guy at this point IMO
Hedge funds, HFT'ers, DDOS attacks on exchanges all manipulating prices. Mt Gox not knowing it's arse from it's elbow!
Bank accounts getting frozen from exchanges (most recent Bitcoin24) Was speaking to someone in the know today that Mt. Gox & Intersango have had bank accounts frozen (waiting to hear back from them about sources etc)
Hackers creating increasingly sophisticated zero day exploits to steal from traders accounts.
LOL it's like the Wild West But still there is the potential to make some great returns assuming none of the above fucks you at some point along the way

it is really about volume. Volume has dropped to 1/3 of what it was at peak but quadruple what it was in feb 2013.
Volume is what the people who don't lose money care about. Price is for speculators.Comment

Momentum trading is pretty easy at the moment..
It's also the problem, price doesn't reflect demand for the actual product Bitcoin, turning into a purely speculative vehicle. buy it pump it wherever you can sell it at a higher price.

The problem is everyone is so scared of another big crash that if someone farts 1000 people will sell. Really, you yell boo and it will drop to 50 again.

What's amazing is how most people back then were unwilling to just buy Bitcoin with real cash money. They were more interested in mining for it, which was obviously the losing way, I mean why spend so much time, effort, on equipment and compete with Bitmain, mining pools, and the pro's.
Then there's the problem that most people had which was they didn't like the idea of giving "real money" (USD, Euro, GBP, etc) for "fake" money, Bitcoin, when, for anyone who knows what money is it's quite the opposite.
And, thing is, even though most still think they missed the boat, these facts remain, fiat currency is fake monopoly money with monetary policy that changes and supply increased to benefit the establishment and Bitcoin is the REAL money with a solid monetary policy, finite supply, backed by math.
