I don't think they are down.. they are still sending TONS of joins on their accounts.. and I haven't been able to hit them for the past 4 days since I have been watching their accounts.. All the IP's of joins are in the 200. range.. so it is all brazillian or spanish traffic.. just don't know how they generate joins if I can't see their page and 90% of the world can't either.. HAHA

I'm guessing it is... not sure what to think, since they have to be LIVE sites to have 228 listings in dmoz.. just don't know why 90% of the world can't hit it for the past 3 days and they can just start sending hits today and already have 70+ joins ... so it can't be that they are down today.. since this webmaster has 70 joins..

WEIRD... maybe someone has more info on kit.net system..

Maybe you have to have a plugin installed on your computer, or log in from a specific ISP to use those sites?

New.net is like that. You have to have their plugin installed, or your ISP has to set up something so that you can reach their sites.

I just did a search on usenet. It looks like kit.net domains get used a lot by spammers. Maybe they got shut down recently.

I don't think dmoz would list the sites if this was the case here...

all signups from brazillian ip's ... might be a brazillian ip plugin or some shit.. got about 40 webmasters sending from those domains.. can't hit any of them for the past couple days..

hoping someone can shed some light on them .. or they all get terminated I'm sure I'll get lots of emails from them once they see their account is terminated.. haha.. just WEIRD how at least 90%(maybe even 100%) of the web can't hit their sites and some of the webmasters are still generating quite a few signups..

I'll let you know if I learn anything on our end...

to you for actually terminating accounts instead of just continuing to take the traffic and not paying for it.

I know it may sound strange for you, believe it or not it opens those kit.net URLs, strange - isn't it, why don't you try to do what I suggested ? You don't know how to change your proxy settings ?

I'm not gonna post screenshots here, but the guy operating http://www.supergostosas.kit.net/ has stats button on his page , heres the link
http://v1.nedstatbasic.net/stats?ABd...sGy1WfPPjoXVqw

kit.net is probably a part from brazillian internal peering , so u can access it with proxy from outside......

about DMOZ listing - probably the sites were reviewed from brazzilian reviewer

So Mr.Fiction GO FUCKYOURSELF with your "plugins installed" shit

All the KIT.net domains and subdomains have been down for quite awhile. I visit globo.com every now and then and check up on Kit.net, and they've been down for about a month now.

Btw, I don't think they block American-based IPs. Reason being was because I was able to access Kit.net about a month ago.

Kit.net is brazilian. Globo.com, the company who owns kit.net, blocks all ips coming from outside Brazil.

I can access all these URLs you posted.

Globo.com is one of the biggest brazilian portals (and now they're ISP too) owned by the largest brazilian communications group (TV, radio, magazines, newspapers...).

Kit.net is their bannerless freehosting. It works to increase their visitors so they can sell more advertising on the globo.com sites Its very weird, but it's how it works here.

They started blocking IPs months ago. Last weeks they blocked a lot of them, and now it seens just brazilians can access kit.net sites.

I checked out their sites as well. Here's how they are getting sign-ups...

They simply show the join form for the Freeezine sites and then translate the instructions into Spanish. If FEB does not allow non-english sites, then they are cheating. If FEB does allow non-english, then they are simply doing good job at marketing, and sending a message that their audience can understand.

Here's another Brazil Proxy, if you want to check it out yourself:

200.171.73.69 Port 3128
