well after tinkering around with all the heat issues and also had to limit my overclocking to make sure i diddnt cause another chernobyl its put my speeds back to around 1800 M/Hashs which kinda sucks.
Also setup remote admin to it so i can connect to it where ever i am. had to move it to the basement as its cooler and more quiet. today is the first full day of running this thing, ill post back the stats later tonight ![]()

I am curious why you got this only now and not weeks earlier. At least weeks earlier. I mean you do not risk that much, if play money crashes you still could sell that machine second hand, its not like you would be in the minus.
I would have built at least 3 of those in that room, especially if electricity is only 1.3$/day. I mean you invest 1500$ and you get 60$/day, thats a no brainer. |

who's making 50GH/s asics for $549?
last i've heard asics producers charged over $1k for 50GH and then bumped prices above 2k, while there are HUGE waiting lines of existing pre-orders. now, no one who owes an asic right now would part with their milking cow unless some ridiculously high premium is offered i would think.

pushing back to 2000MH/S, still gotta try and figure out this heating issue with the middle card, its a piggy int he middle and the other two are heating them out, got a nice setup going on now though, logmein set up on all my devices so if anything happens i can change it at a moments notice, also thinking of setting up a webcam of the rig so if i see the fan stop working i can shut it down, havent figured out yet how to shut the system down if temp reaches over a certain number, will be doing that soon, also setting up a router down there so i dont have to route the net through my spare laptop thats sitting on top.

GUIMiner has a "solo" function which I take to mean that it can mine without a server. Am I not understanding that function correctly?

yeh that should work too, when you select summery or console does it show you anything? only reason why i mention joining a pool is that you make a lot more bitcoins that way.

with solo you have to run your own bitcoind instance. unless luck on your side solo may not bring any rewards with little hashing power as difficulty increases so is time to mine a block at x MH/s

I prefer sapphire mine are great the sapphire 7950 gets 540H with no over clock and sits at 62c the 7950 xfx i have will not go over 280H and the xfx 7970 i have wont go over 530H with any type of over clock and they also run very hot 80-90c and are loud. If i was going to start again i would get the sapphire 7970/7950 vapour x i think the 7950 are better value for money/hash. |

mining in a pool wont make any difference at all, because at the end, when you find the block and complete the cycle, each miner will get the same part as if they mined individually..
Its funny to think that people who join NIXXIN pool, will make more money lol... BTW, Nixxin (BILL MURRAY), claims to do 2700 M/s, after spending 1500 bucks in the setup. (however he claims to have 3 ATI 7970 GPU's, which in total can do 2000 M/s at MAX, so he is full of shit there..) But, let's take his number of 2700, According to the calculator: per Month ฿5.38 $621.36 And he claims to be from Canada, where electricity is fucking expensive. So, he makes with luck between 400-500 per month. You consider that a lot of "money" ? With luck, if the bubble doesn't crash, he will recover the 1500 bucks in 3 months. And, you must consider the difficult of mining gets harder each day. So, make that 3.5-4 months... And then, if the bubble doesn't crash, he could make some bucks. LOL. |

i was getting around 2700 with cgminer + custom flags but as i have stated before and i guess i will have to remind you again, i am having heating issues. hence why i needed to roll back my core and mem clocks. As an added bonus i dont pay electricity where i live. thats taken care of. I started this not as a Get Rich Quick scheme but as a hobby, i make more money/BTC by day trading the coins i have. But hey, if its making me an extra $400 a month extra at the currect BTC price then thats nothing to sneeze at. "With solo mining, you have a small chance at getting the full payout of 25 BTC ranged around the time it should take to get you a block. The error in this range is what is known as luck. You could have good luck and get a block before the time you're supposed to, and you could have bad luck and not get one for a long time. What solo mining does is takes the amount of work you do, and runs it through an equation that gives you the exact amount you should have gotten paid in that time period taking into account your hashrate. For example: You have x hashrate which should get you a block every 10 days. You join a pool and they pay you 2.5 BTC per day to mine; this will give you 25 BTC every 10 days. If you were solo mining with x hashrate and you should get a block every 10 days, it could be 8, it could be 25" your welcome. ![]()

Hey guys, heres just a heads up with my mining progress.
Here is what ihave made so far trying out PPS & PPLNS, Two different ways of mining. ![]() This is my mining uptime/stats with my rig. you can see ive had a lot of downtime, due to the fact that i use my work laptop as a way to route internet to my box, so when i work i need to unhook it from the internet. i need to get a usb wireless adapter for $11 at bestbuy but i been too lazy. so over the past week i think ive done less mining than more mining. ![]() and this is what it looks like if i was going to sell right now @ the price of $120/BTC hopefully when/if bitcoin reaches $200 again all that i mine will be doubled. Mtgox had a powerful ddos against it the other day due to the new technology that mtgox is using so they can pretty much block ddos now and it actually diddnt affect trading whatsoever, the price stayed the same, silly me i sold a bunch at 95ish and saw it rise to 110 so i bought back in. ![]()

I can't make up my mind if we're gonna see a gradual increase over the next week or if it'll hit a point and come crashing down again like last week. If Mt Gox can stay online I suppose it's less likely to drop due to a DDOS attack at least. How many days did it take to mine your 0.7 coin, 1 week? |
