Here's the addr that had over 1 billion dollars (in today's value) as a balance:

https://blockchain.info/address/1933...vqCn32k2buXY8a

See all those little deposits? Those are tracers, small amounts which people send to the address, so they can try to associate different addresses with the same wallet. To create a transaction you need the private keys for all funds associated with it, so if a transaction bundles two or more separate addresses together, that means they came from the same wallet.

That address still has a small balance remaining, because of those tracer deposits, even though the balance was cleared out in 2014.

Holy shit!!!!

It wasn't worth nearly as much in 2014, and it could have been some sort of shared fund rather than a single person...

BTW, the tracers I mentioned above are sent by OTHERS, so that OTHER PEOPLE can trace your activity in the blockchain. Bitcoin isn't really that anonymous because it's possible to use analysis to link together different addresses and transactions. Tracers are one way to do it.

If you bleat constantly, year after year, about bubbles... it's an open market, so at some point you'll probably end up being right.

Then you get called a genius because your prediction was "correct." :1orglaugh

Satoshi Nakamoto is a fictional character.

It is widely accepted fact that the real person behind this name is dead and his coins lost.

There are 16 mil active coins worldwide.

Yeah sounds like conspiracy theorists, they make up shitload of stuff and when one thing ends up being half-true then they all jerk each other off :winkwink:
