Ron Paul Launches Liberty-based Homeschool Curriculum

Out of politics, Ron Paul launches his own curriculum
    http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...wn-curriculum/

"It?s not uncommon for former government officials or ex-politicians to enter academia when they leave Washington.

But former Rep. Ron Paul has gone a few steps further by creating his own curriculum.

The Texas Republican, libertarian hero and three-time presidential candidate aims to teach home-schooled students four core tenets: Liberty versus coercion in Western history; how to defend the freedom philosophy; what it takes for success in college; and how to start a business.

The courses are designed for home education, a growing trend across the nation. There are at least 1.5 million home-schooled students in the U.S., according to 2007 data from the federal government."

Ron Paul Curriculum: A Free Market-Based Program
    http://www.ronpaulcurriculum.com/

"Here, students learn the basics of Western Civilization and Western liberty -- how it was won, how it is being lost, and how it will be restored. (Not can . . . will.)"

In the US you've got to get your kids poisoned before they're allowed into school

Ron Paul, why do Americans not listen to him? Seems like a an honest politician. Possibly the only one I have ever seen in the entire world.

Sometimes, and sometimes not...both of the two below were home-schooled

Don't ALWAYS agree with him, but the vast majority of the time, definitely.

Ron Paul is good in small doses. But he's starts to sour if you keep him around for long periods of time.

He has some good qualities, principles & ideas but he far too often goes over the top or just a tad bit way too far..
In November, you can vote for America's next president or its first dictator.

I would argue that he didn't even really try those three times. What he did do was get a little of his message out there and sell a lot of books.

This is one of the biggest things I don't like about him, is he's all about self name promotion. Just look at the domain name for his curriculum.. He of course couldn't come up with some name that meant something.. No No sir he has to slap his own name right there in front of it.

He's like Donald Trump more interested in promoting himself than what he's selling..

Look at the work Bill Clinton has done since he left his presidency or Jimmy Carter. You don't see those guys flashing their name around trying to advance themselves. You see them instead using their name to advance their cause.

It's a very, very big difference and one of the reasons I never really cared for RP..

sure why not. although ron paul typically does shit for himself rather than others and just hides it in bizarre things like chumping for change with the ron paul curriculum.

although i'm not sure what "learning about liberty vs. coercion in western history" is all about or how one would teach that.

Are you guys serious that he didn't try? Did you not see the media bias with him where they wouldn't even list him sometimes or let him speak? He got HOSED last time around.

Here is why I say he didn't try.

If you are going to have a legit chance at winning the presidency you have to raise a lot of money. He refuses to take any kind of big corporate money and do any insider style fundraising. While that might be noble, it doesn't get you anywhere near where you need to be.

If you really want to change things you need to win the office first so he would need to take the money. Let the insiders do what they do and get him the cash so he can compete. If he gets the nomination then money plays some role in it, but his message and his ability to connect with people is just as important. If he can win the white house he is free to do whatever he wants. If his message resonates the people will elect him again. If not, he will be a one term guy.

His refusal to do the things that it takes to seriously compete at that level show me that he was never really serious about winning. But when you look at is campaigns he had no shortage of books and products to sell right after his campaign ended.
