Check your JuicyAds popunders - they may be slowing your site

1 Question. Did you talk to them about it first?

I have been talking with them about this for over a month. This issue mostly shows up during peak times around 10am and 5pm GMT-2.

Their only acknowledgement was that, there MAY be a slow down during peak times. But more than 1 second script loading time is simply way too long. I'm asking around if people are noticing the same delays on their sites.

And no this is not an April fools joke.

I haven't spoken directly with this individual but the tests (to my understanding) were fast. I'm fairly certain this has been looked into deeper than just an acknowledgement of delay at peak times.

Additionally, anyone who is not running the most recently version of the code should upgrade. The new one uses CDN which will significantly speed up the loading of the code.

The entire system is being moved to another hosting company which will dramatically improve the performance further.

Regardless, anyone else experiencing any problems with their popunder code should contact JuicyAds support. GFY is not a support forum. Contact me directly at [email protected] .. Everyone knows we take support issues seriously. It might help if you could forward me your website, account with us, your geo location, and the exact code you're currently using (esp if you're not using the new code).

We have run dozens of tests from external sources including webpage speed tests that test every aspect of the website with breakdown for dns resolution, connection,response and transfer time.

We have also done numerous tests through our own server proxies and multiple other proxy servers all around the world.

The outcome is exactly the same. The whole side loads and waits for 'xapi.juicyads.com' for up to 20 seconds.

We have been trying to diagnose the source of this issue for weeks, but can't seem to understand how could our site design cause such delays on xapi.juicyads.com

Are you using the new code they updated a few weeks ago? I have no issues with load times on mine. You should look at where the code is in your header and what other stuff is there like I had a issue with a mobile code for awhile because it was below my popunder code.

We are using the latest code, and the popunder js is the first script in our header

The issue only happens during absolute peak times.

How long does your page take to load? Our video pages load in 4 seconds or less on most normal connections, and usually in 2-3 second range including all images and other advertiser ads.

If your page takes more than 10 seconds to load you won't see this issue.

I have trouble trusting companies which chastise people for "bringing things to the boards". If you're an honest company why would you feel threatened by people talking about you? If you messed up or something is wrong you admit it, fix it, and move on. If you didn't mess up and the poster screwed up then it's no harm to you.

It seems like so many companies these days want to cover things up rather than fix things. It's a big warning sign.

Not to mention that forums are here for exactly this kind of thing.
