You do this dumb shit all the time. Oh my god, ninety-three thousand words in 271 laws? That sounds horrible.
But then reality bitch smacks you in the face - only 271 federal laws? That's it? Figure some of them are about minors owning firearms, criminals owning firearms, laws about it being illegal to shoot people for no reason, laws about what determines what is self defense and what isn't, laws about concealed carrying, laws about background checks... And yeah, suddenly that list doesn't sound nearly as bad now does it?
I love it when you copy and paste from gun nut sites. I really liked the one about Chicago when they hit five hundred murders which looks horrible at first, but when compared to 1500 murders it looks a lot better... I also liked the one about the town in GA where people are "required by law" to own firearms and yet their crime rate is three times higher than my hometown here.Herschel Savage

Did you need your handgun then? How would a handgun have changed the situation?I have, it took a 6'3" asshole in a bar last October to sneak up behind me and smash a beer mug in my face. He's getting sentencing tomorrow. Still don't know why he did it. He was 2 beds over in the ER getting his hand looked at from the damage of the broken glass when I told the cops what he looked like. I never even took a knee.
I'm more worried about my mother or my daughter, that's why they have carry permits.
The only way you being armed would have changed the situation in this case would have been instead of him being arrested, he would be dead and you would be the one being arrested.Herschel Savage

Outstanding. Hide them in your house.
And that will work fine for you until the one afternoon you are having a BBQ and a six year old girl finds one of your hidden firearms and shoots herself dead. Or better yet, that will work fine for you until come home one day and discover your house has been broken into and three out of your six handguns are now missing - congrats, because you've just armed a criminal.
And at the end of the day, having a handgun in your house isn't going to change a damn thing! That fucker who made the videos for the NRA was shot in broad day light in his own house surrounded by his own firearms. Don't you get it - YOU DON"T SEE IT COMING WHEN IT HAPPENS.Herschel Savage

And again with the rallying cry.
No one wants to take guns away from anyone. It's the same argument over and over again - Just apply some common sense here. Why is it tougher to get a driver's license than it is to purchase a firearm? We give kids courses on how to drive a car, but not a single class is required to get a firearm.
Legal owners aren't the problem? You bet your ass they are. The mother who purchased the assault rifle and other firearms that was used in the school shooting up in Mass... Clearly she was a responsable, legal firearm owner - the fact that the kid had known mental issues, was considered suicidal in high school, was unemployed, locked himself in a basement to play violent video games, and was obviously depressed had nothing to do with her being a responsable gun owner... The mother even said she was "loosing him"... And her idea of family bonding was with an assault rifle.
My father was a legal gun owner. He died 43 years ago. Where the fuck are his firearms? I don't have them. My step father doesn't have them. My mother doesn't have them. We have no idea who lives in the house we used to store them in. Legal gun owner, yet no one has any clue of what happened to his hand guns.

The govt. always uses the tiny percentage of idiots doing stupid shit to create laws that make it harder on the vast majority of folks.
From drugs to alcohol to sex to guns to driving to eating...the list goes on and on. The Nanny State knows what's best for 99.9% of people who don't NEED them to tell us what to do.
So they make laws based on the .1% who actually do stupid shit...and that affects all the rest of us...and ironically don't do anything at all to affect the fucktards who are the real problem to begin with.

It's much worse that that. People seem to think that if they are sitting on the couch watching TV and three armed men blow through that door from a draw in a side table or from the kitchen and get into a gun battle and live through it. And some times it does happen that way - but sometimes it doesn't.
Here in Sacramento a few months ago a pawn shop owner was robbed by two armed men. Logic would dictate that two armed men with handguns drawn and pointed trumps one man who has a gun under the counter. The pawn shop owner didn't understand his situation, and while he was pulling out his gun he got shot multiple time - in the face, loosing an eye in the process. (The pawn shop owner, btw, has more balls than ALL of us put together - because with his fucking eyeball hanging out of his face he chased them down the street!)
I'm not on meds. But when I get to buy my AR15, no one fucking asked me if I was.
If you want to own firearms, awesome, great. Let's go. The gun range is less than two miles from my house; I can hear them shooting on the weekends and I swear it gives me wood.
But is asking too much to make sure that firearm owners haven't been charged with assault recently? Or is it asking too much to make sure that a gun owner isn't on medication?
I'm not saying I want anyone to have their firearms taken away. I'm saying let's apply some common sense here. It shouldn't be easier to buy a firearm than it is to get a driver's license.
I'm just saying I want laws that will protect my family. My AR15 isn't going to protect my wife when she's at the mall or my kid when she's at school.Herschel Savage

No, we don't need to go that far. But if a firearm you own is used in a homicide... You should go to jail right along with the shooter for just as long.
We need to be aware of where our firearms are at all times. Have one or two with you at all times; The rest need to be locked up. Firearms need to be secured. Saying "my firearms are safe in my house" isn't the same as "secure".
This really isn't about firearms for me; It's about common sense. My step father had a huge shot gun and rifle collection. Most of them were kept in a glass case in full view of the front window right next to the front door.Herschel Savage

Wow, so if you are a victim of felony breaking and entering, robbery or home invasion and your gun is stolen you should go to prison just like the criminal who shoots a liquor store owner the next day with the stolen gun?
Once again you want to lower the honest citizen to the same level as a criminal. Make an honest citizen liable for the criminal acts of another.

But no one is talking about loosing our rights or our freedoms.
I saw on FB the other day that you have a motorcycle. Fucking awesome. But in order to have that motorcycle you have to have a motorcycle license, have it registered, and have it insured. You also have to wear a helmet. When you went to DMV to get your license they pulled your driving record to make sure you haven't had too many tickets recently.
Why don't we do the same for firearms? (Here in California....) If you've had four tickets, no driver's license. Why don't we have a law saying "If you've been charged with assault and battery in the past four years, no firearms for you".
Why do we have to register our cars, but not weapons?
I'm just talking about some common sense laws here. The very first law we need to have is medical background check. No idea how to make it happen, but at the very least you should be sane to own a firearm. (Come to think of it we need the same law to drive a car.)
I never gave this much thought really.
I think this is a waste of time. It doesn't matter if you have one thirty round clip it's not much different three clips of ten rounds each. It's not like it takes thirty seconds to reload; It takes a few seconds to eject and ram a new clip in. Even with a handgun you can keep reloading all damn day long until everyone is dead.
The first law I would like to see is one about mental health. My wife works in healthcare, and all of the hospitals and doctors are hooked up these days via computer networks. Our government should be able to tap into these systems and see if you've seen a shrink recently or if you are on any medication that should be a problem. Privacy issues are no longer a concern; You wave your rights every time you see a doctor and you wave your rights during a background check to buy a firearm, same thing.Herschel Savage

You like to put words in my mouth. No, I did not say I want "government employees screening citizens for mental capacity". It's very simple - When you go to see a head shrink or get put on any kind of medication that might affect your mental health, you get flagged as ineligible to own a firearm. That should very basic.
Likewise, if you get arrested for any kind of violent crime (assault, etc) you should also be flagged as ineligible.

I had a talk with a friend of mine from Turkey. I didn't know you can get gun licenses in Turkey but to do that you have to spend two days in a hospital getting a battery of physical and psychological tests . Not a bad idea.
As someone who studied the martial arts as a young man to think shooting at targets in a controlled environment is going to make you ready for a gun fight is silly. In the words of Bruce Lee, "Boards don't hit back."
I think you should be able to own any gun you want. It should be registered yearly and you got to take a 4 weekend course and pass a test to get your gun license. A more comprehensive background check and close all selling loopholes. All guns start as legal. You pass it all, which I figure 95 percent of all gun owners can do, own an arsenal if you want.Comment

As far as screening for mental health, are you out of your fucking mind? Seriously Richard, love you, but that's nuts. Think about it, some shrink sitting in an office going thru 300 people a day determining their right to own a gun? Because if you want it to be just when they see a shrink, they will stop seeing a shrink to keep their guns.
Think of it this way, when we were kids, how many did you know that were on meds? Now ask your kid how many she knows, the Medical field is going to determine who gets a gun? They are drugging all our kids to line their pockets.

I didn't say Hide a Gun in the house I said YOU might as well stay hidden in the house if you are so scared of people driving and having guns and on meds and so on.
If I worded it wrong, my bad...
I am not even going to waste time to go look and see...
Criminals break in to Wal-marts and steal guns, so what.
Oh hey lets make a law making that illegal...
NO FUCKING Person said having a weapon will STOP every situation, but show me how having one was bad.
MY FUCKING GOD you are a TROLL, you argue to argue.
You own guns, even an AR-15 you claim, but want more laws passed. No Laws will stop the criminals or crazies.
I am done with your Trolling, and if you are that stupid, I pray for your family.
and vendzilla, come on. your personal story about your daughter not getting into anything dangerous you had around the house is meaningless. just because nothing happened in your case means nothing should happen to anyone else and if it does they are stupid or have bad parents? no. things are not so black and white.
you can't argue with the fact that you are more likely to be shot if you own a gun than if you didn't.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

Blah blah freedoms blaaaah blahIn California, you need to take a safety class, unless you are ex military, then you need a copy of your DD214
It's not about the firearms, it's about freedoms and losing them because of what criminals are doing. That makes no sense to me! Do you really think limiting legal gun owners guns to 10 rounds each is going to save lives?
Cops have semi automatic rifles to protect themselves, they don't have them to protect us, we should have the same thing. Full auto, I have no use for, I'm a better shot than that.
And your post above is a perfect example why inbreed rednecks like you should have no access to guns.
You're too goddamn dumb and white trash to understand that you are actually part of the problem.
As soon as people like you would legally walk around here with guns this country would quickly turn in to the 3rd world shithole you live in.
We don't have the freedom to just buy guns as you like and i'm extremely happy we don't. Something your inbreed brain will never understand.
I guess that's the result of growing up in the trailer park.Comment

Someone who teaches his daughter how to shoot people in the eye is pointing at others for creating a gun problem.
Can it get any more retarded than that?
Funny how the rest of the world can see how insane the gun freaks are yet they think it's perfectly normal.Comment

its a good thing guns were invented before cars. who knows what might of been in the constitution if cars had aided in America's independence from Britain.Having and riding a motorcycle is not a right guaranteed by the constitution of the United States, it is a privilege. Owning a firearm is a right. Fuck any politician to the murky depths of hell if they think they are above the constitution.
You do know that in this country you are like 5 times more likely to die from the misdiagnoses of a doctor than a gun shot?
i can't believe you would actually be against screening for mental health issues. i don't agree that simply seeing a psychiatrist should be ground for not obtaining a gun but if a person is diagnosed with a mental illness known for violent outbursts and hallucinations such as schizophrenia, these people should definitely not be able to have guns and there should be an easy way to screen for this. it won't prevent those who aren't diagnosed but its better than nothing.Last edited by BlackCrayon; 04-02-2013, 05:03 AM.you don't know you're wearing a leash if you sit by the peg all day..Comment

And what about white trash like Vendzilla? Someone with an extremely low iq who has guns eveywhere because he just can't wait to use them. Should he be allowed a gun? He's obviously a way bigger danger than any random criminal. The chances if him putting a gun in your face are much higher than a burglar doing that for instance.its a good thing guns were invented before cars. who knows what might of been in the constitution if cars had aided in America's independence from Britain.

But you must remember all of the discussions in the past about seat belts and helmets and how they infringed on our rights?

No one has to sit in an office and do anything. If you have seen a mental health doctor for ANYTHING, you are flagged. Period. If you see a shrink because someone in your house might be nuts, you are also flagged - can't have a firearm in the house if your kid is suicidal.
And this should be the first thing in any new law about background searches.Think of it this way, when we were kids, how many did you know that were on meds? The NRA used to be about gun safety in the 1970s - rifles. Handguns and assault rifles was never part of the discussion. After the last school shooting, instead of having smart discussions about what we can do to prevent this from happening again, the NRA stuck it's head up it's ass. The end result is the most damaging gun bill ever is about to pass in Connecticut.... Instead of the NRA sitting down with lawmakers and having a talk about it and having checks for mental health, instead we'll have to register "high capacity magazines".Herschel Savage

Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants

How many people would pass on treatment if it meant they would lose their guns? Given people like Tim McVeigh, I would rather they got the treatment, or are you suggesting mandatory screenings?its a good thing guns were invented before cars. who knows what might of been in the constitution if cars had aided in America's independence from Britain.

Were did I say anything about the NRA, and if you don't have mandatory screening, you'll have people skipping treatment to keep their guns, and if you try mandatory screening, then you will be in violation of the constitutionAs far as screening for mental health, are you out of your fucking mind? What a fucking moron, if you think I need a gun, you have never met me and don't have the balls to say these things to my face.
Putting you on ignore like all the other trolls with nothing to say but racist slurs and insults.
