    Recovery of ICQ address with no access to old email?

    Its an old account (15ish years?) - I think I must have changed the password when I had had a few beers - I don't have access to the email address I signed with - Anyone have any ideas?

    100's of contacts and a nice short number - I really want it back ...

                          If I can find my passwords sure I got an extra 6 digit one I could sell relatively cheap as I bought a stack of 6 digit ones that all begin with "1" from a buddy a while ago. Wouldn't get your contacts back but short number anyway.

                                              There's some little program that'll retrieve your locally stored password. Is that what you need to do? In the meantime I'm trying to remember the name of it as it's not on my current computer. I swear it was simple, like maybe ICQpw or something.

                                                  If the number/account info is on your computer, one of those password recovery tools should help anyway, good luck.

                                                      "To use the ICQ Password Assistance System and get a new ICQ password, you need to set two Questions & Answers.

                                                      You can only set Questions & Answers if you enter the Primary Email address currently in your ICQ details or any Primary Email address you entered previously.

                                                      If you did not enter an Email address in your ICQ details, if you do not have access to any such Email address or if it is no longer valid, you will not be able set Questions & Answers and get a new password."

                                                      So even if you don't have access to it.. you may have set the security questions for it when you joined. Provided you still remember what email you used to sign up with.

                                                      I think that's what Devin did.. not 100% sure though.
