just use it from the desktop and it basically is windows 7. that said, yeah, there really isnt any reason to upgrade from 7 if you dont have a touchscreen or aren't using it on a tablet.

I hate metro so I use classic-shell to have my normal menu. I still use win8 since it reduce my encoding time with adobe premiere pro of 20%

Also with windows you buy every other os. The second time is a charm for them. lol I played with a few touch screen desktops and I dont like it. To me its awkward.

it forces me to have a shitty MS account, i can't install the regular Skype, i have to search for settings all the time - and all that even after installing Classic Shell. fuck that.

Why can't you install regular Skype? Installs and works fine for me on desktop.

I use Start8 and rarely see the metro interface. The desktop enhancements and performance are enough for me to stick with it

I purchased a very high end Sager laptop several months ago and it came loaded with Win 7 Ultimate and a free "upgrade" to Win 8 that I am not bothering with. Win 7 I am very happy with, no need to mess with that mess that Win 8 looks like.

It is quite funny how win8 is reason why valve started to port more games for linux.Today i just read about new version of windows called "blue" and it seems it will be released faster then in usual time frame,wondering they will fix that metro bullshit.Also,there is some programs which removes metro and make win8 to look like win7,but didnt tried it so cant tell does it work or not.

People would move to linux,but the reason why they wont do it is same in 99% of cases:
they have some xyz program which works only on windows and they cant make it run on linux.
