Ok here is my story (I know no one cares)

Worked as a bartender, had a cleaning company and now am in college getting my BBA.

I have seen checks over $1,000 per week, and frankly dont want this to be my full time job EVER! Because I like to be around ppl, not in front of a comp all day. I have almost enough money to make a big investment in real estate that will let me live good for a very long time.

Not bad for an 18yr old? :Graucho

Firstly, wanted to say that this is a good thread.

Carrie made some good points. My personal situation is that I know I don't want to work for other people. I'm a "Self-Employed" type of person, so I rather work alone or with a partner, not with someone above me.

My background is in Marketing and in PC Networking. I hated office politics, I hated corporate fakes, and I despised working hard and seeing that positive results only helped the higher ups, not myself or my peers.

Will I be in the Industry for the long haul? That I don't know. My business is Marketing. Adult entertainment is a product for me. I don't want to come in here and follow the masses, I want to innovate a little and be at the forefront. I want to set something up here that will work on it's own and I can then move on to other ventures, either in the industry or outside. Wherever the opportunities are.

I don't do this for the love of porn, I do it because Porn is a challenging environment because people are very innovative and react quickly.
:2 cents:

If I wanted quick money, I would get a regular part-time job. It would be better for putting me through school, and less time-consuming. I do this because it lets me make money from my main creative outlet.

But to answer the quetion I've been making adult sites for over 3 years now and looks like I'll be doing it for the foreseeable future. Like you, I've always been a pervert so it only makes sense that I'd be making money from watching porn all day and hang out with other fellow pervs :thumbsup

Hey Tib don't think I could forget you...that was one helluva night of partying.

I'll definitely hit you up on ICQ.

sinfulone 02-22-2003 11:29 PM

I'm in it until the end.

If this is what you want, or think is all that is out there then by all means go for it, just leaves more room for the rest of us to grow richer

I will stay in it as long as the money is good. If you plan to do it for any length of time then pushing traffic to your own sites is the most stable way of making a living. I do hope to make the internet my career but something in mainstream.

Well, Za Ha has always been a big liar. I just stopped believing him.

Rich 02-23-2003 01:04 PM

Za Ha, you'll have to see checks a lot bigger than $1000/week before you have enough green for an "big investment in real estate that will let me live good for a very long time". Better crank up the hitbot.

Why? Because the main reason I do this is because I enjoy it?

no DOUBT!

jayeff 02-23-2003 04:30 PM

I retired into this business - six years ago come April - so I doubt I shall be doing anything else soon...

magnatique 02-23-2003 05:03 PM

just riding the wave... when it's time to do something else, I'll do something else... if it takes me 5 more years for it to be the right time, than be it..

so easier to go with the present rather than worrying too much about in 5 years...

I'm young, got lots of time in front of me ;)

Thats exactly WHY I like this job, because I DON 'T have to be around other people all day. I hate other people , people bug.
I'd rather be in front of my comp than be around annoying people all day! My comp is my lover, and my best friend :Graucho

strobi 02-23-2003 06:17 PM

I wish I could do this the rest of my life... Pays good and lots of fun... But I'm off for a real job in a few years I guess, got myself 2 masters degrees so it would be a shame to waste them with you horny guys :winkwink: :winkwink: :winkwink:
