Where are the Depeche Mode fans?

I know there are a few of us here.

I'm pushing play on my first full listen of Delta Machine. It's streaming free on Itunes at the moment.

Already pre-ordered the physical copy from Amazon so I can get in on the ticket pre-sale. Good marketing. Hopefully, a good album to match.

They are coming to Tampa so I have to get my girl tickets. They are pretty good but not really my cup of tea.

If she is a fan and hasn't seen them live, trust me that you will get laid afterwards.

Big synths...and yes, I always have to listen once for the noise and then go back and really hear it.

I am going for tickets to the KraftWerk concert first...

My second or maybe third BF was a roadie for Depeche Mode.

DM, Vince Clark, Erasure, Yazoo and Alison Moyet are all connected to the small part of South Essex as me.

One of the most amazing things was Alison Moyet doing acapella at a small wine bar where we went every Sunday.

I love the '80s...

I only like old DM, stuff that Vince or Allan Wilder was in. Anything after, my dying love for them faded....

I saw Erasure last year primarily to complete the collection of Depeche Mode members.

I'd see Kraftwerk for great pleasure but they don't hit me all over like DM.

My love for them gets stronger after Vince. It is then that they started to become the band I really love but I agree that Wilder's influence is missed.

I don't think it was trying not to sound gay. She has a great voice and popular, for obvious reasons, with the BBW fan crowd in the UK.

Bronski Beat is fun and I'll listen to Small Town Boy just about any time. I accidentally saw Jimmy Sommerville when I was in Munich during their Pride. He still sounded good.

most likely. See you go to plug in your ipod, realize there is no music, realize there has been an update regardless of the 'do you want to install' window that seems to pop up at the least opportune moments

then it makes you smile that he's dead

It was the 80's, I was gay and I had almost enough money to be a yuppie - Where else could I be?

EDIT: It was the 80's, I was gay and I had boyfriends with almost enough money to be a yuppies - Where else could I be?

Because America calls them Yaz but they are known as Yazoo in UK. Made more confusing by one of Jimmy Somerville's bigger hits being with an Amazonian woman called Yas.

I'm 42 - Damn, did I lie about my age again?

Also, I worked in my first bar way before I was legal - I remember when 'Mike' the guy I was working for at 16 screamed at me - Funny he wouldn't let me do the bar again but I never paid for a drink on the other side....

Yes, when Vince left DM he formed Yazzo/Yaz first and then went on to Erasure. The Vince Clarke rock family tree - which also includes The Assembly - is impressive.

I'm 36 (no point in lying, fat don't crack). My drinking days started a tad later.

Their Violator tour Kicked ass.. really rockin concert and Nitzer Ebb opened. But by the time Songs of Faith And Devotion took hold.. the crowd really mellowed and were prepared to just sit in their seats.. even in floor seats. Still Black Celebration holds as my favorite album.

Saw Erasure about 3 years ago with the True Colours Tour. Had no idea it was really a gay rights rally. A family of four were there and I guess they had no idea either, so when Margret Cho came on stage talking about raping the Pope.. 15 mins was enough for them and they left. Debbie Harry was there, but couldn't do any Blondie.. so we got stuck with some obscure numbers and Yayo. Cindy Lauper was good too. But then Erasure came on and I swear every single gay guy just started dancing. Erasure still puts on one hell of a performance.

I've had Black Celebration stuck in my head for nearly a week.

I've seen them twice but on the most recent tours. The first gig for Playing the Angel was amazing. No support act and played for nearly three hours straight and still left songs that I wanted to hear out. I tingle just thinking about it. The last time, there were a lot of health issues going on with Gahan and the show got postponed a few times but eventually he did a great show. At that gig, it is Gore's performance of A Question of Lust that was unforgettable. There is a clip of it on Youtube somewhere but you really had to be there.

Erasure were fun live and I saw them in Oakland. I texted somebody and said that I was watching one of gayest bands in one of the gayest towns and it was fantastic. So many guys there were off their heads on one substance or another and just looking to have a great time and made sure that they did.

The new music sounds great!

One of my favorite live bands. I always leave in a state of bliss. Definitely going to try to catch DM again on their upcoming tour...

I watched it that night and it was fantastic. They get fully in their stride with Walking In My Shoes which was just perfect.

I just finished the album and it left me willing to have Gahan's babies. Which, is usually a good sign.
