    MGM executives said the next James Bond movie will happen within the next three years. The studio is ready to capitalize off the success of “Skyfall” but the search for a director continues with no frontrunner.
    Two highly respected directors, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg, are pegged with 10/1 and 9/1 odds, respectively, but they are longshots to take over the next Bond movie. Quentin Tarantino and James Cameron are longshots, with 33/1 odds, considering Tarantino’s history and Cameron’s dedication to the world of Pandora, chances are neither will be in the director’s chair of the next Bond movie.

                                                      I think its always been every 2 years for a bond movie. with the exception of a few in the 60s and 70''s being back to back. Then later there were 4 and 5 year gaps.

                                                      I don't really care who does the next one, but they really need ones with stronger plots and better characters. Oh.. and no more parkour.

                                                                  the history of the franchise shows the films are typically released every 2-3 years except when they change bond actors.

                                                                  skyfall was delayed due to mgm financial difficulties, i remember reading an article a few years back quoting an mgm exec as not knowing if there will ever be another bond flick.

                                                                                      As we previously reported, MGM has finally filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York. After more than a year of trying to select a specific reorganization plan, MGM has ultimately gone with the plan that names Spyglass Entertainment as the new head of MGM.

                                                                                      Specifically, the plan appoints Spyglass co-heads Gary Barber and Roger Birnbaum as co-CEOs of MGM; it was approved by MGM?s board of over 100 lenders, who will trade almost $4 billion in debt for 95% collective stake in the restructured studio.


                                                                                      As for the two things we here at Screen Rant care about ? The Hobbit and James Bond ? we know already that Barber and Birnbaum had distinctive roles in getting The Hobbit into production with Peter Jackson at the helm; it?s early yet to make an official call, but you can bet that the pair are looking ahead with equal enthusiasm to preserving the James Bond franchise, hopefully with star Daniel Craig still attached and rumored director Sam Mendes still onboard for the next installment. Bond fans have been saying for some time that this stalled Bond 23 movie is something the want to see, so it wouldn?t hurt Spyglass/MGM to hop to it and capitalize on that good favor.

                                                                                                                  bond franchise has always been over the top cheeky, that's why i asked above if fincher can do cheeky (he can't)

                                                                                                                  skyfall has the dude adjusting his sleeve cuffs after ripping off the back of train and hopping into it via a buldozer scoop getting shot at via machine gun, not to mention hopping on a random moto and riding rooftops and doing wheelies. and more throughout the film--all over the top.

                                                                                                                  that IS bond.



                                                                                                                  i like living daylights, while dalton, it is a great bond film.
