Media making out porn = child porn

God damn every time I read a child porn case news articule, or anything to do with Child porn it always seems to mention normal adult porn sites or just porn sites. My mum hates what I do cause she believes this crap and thinks child porn = porn. and always asks me if what i'm really doing is legal. pisses me off.

Here is a tame example, just got it from CNN
http://www.cnn.com/2003/TECH/interne....ap/index.html

Have you guys noticed this in your TV news as well?

In one extreme case, a single Web site, www.a000.net, shared its numerical address with 970,411 other sites.
I thought that was a virtual hosting nightmare before I found out it was register.com. Christ.

Lets see, where do these CP Sicko's get their CP from? The Internet. I would only guess that before the Internet days CP was a lot harder to come by.

The sad thing is we're going to have a lot of fucking time-bombs waiting to go off when these kids grow up if they do not get the help they need.

It's too bad, but the public doesn't make any distinction between a "good" pornographer and a "bad" pornographer. We're all just "pornographers".

It would make for less of a story if they had far fewer targets

The media loves to compare porn and child porn to try to make all porn seem bad and illegal.

Fuck them.

My mom's the same way. She thinks that anything with the word 'porn' in it is illegal.

This makes me feel better. I thought my Mom was the only one. Even after showing her stacks of content licenses and 2257s she STILL thinks I am doing something wrong.

Me too. My grandmother was like that as well...she would hit me with the "if you go to jail who'll raise your baby?!?" (must be howled in a plaintive old-lady wail for best effect. And said "baby" was 8 when my grandmother died.)

As for my mom? She's a former party-girl/alcoholic-turned-born-again Holy Roller. She just tells me she'll pray for me. Thanks, Momma.

I totally agree

What worries me lately is this rash of CP email spam that a good number of people on this board, including myself are getting.

It's stopped lately....but still freaked me the fuck out. Who in the fucking world put me on their list I have no idea, I'm guessing some adult webmaster hater, or some randomly harvested spider caught 2 of my emails

Tim at ASACP made it a very easy process to report thankfully...

what REALLY concerns me though, were those attempts to setup a bunch of adult webmasters by sending that shit out & having it reach our HDs???

I guess I'm a little too much of a consipiracy theorist, but it concerned me for sure cuz in the 4-5 years of doing tame adult webmastering this is the first time I've ever been hit with that shit...

sad & sick shit for sure

Maybe we should put a research fund together to determine the fairness/unfairness level that different media outlets put on the adult industry with negative words etc.. Yes, it is opinion, but if unfairly portrayed can have legal action taken towards them... Just an idea.. And yes, there is such a thing of researching such things with use of words, relevancy to words in different articles, etc etc..

Cheers,
Matt
