    Tumblr Traffic Generation Part 2 - MONETIZATION



    Hey guys,

    Vince one of my top guy at the Crakmedia's headquarter just posted the part 2 of our upcoming series of tutorials.

    Hey there! How have you been? How are your little Tumblees doing?

    Everything should be going smoothly if you followed our instructions in Part 1. Remember that we haven?t posted a single picture of our own ? yet still, I bet you are getting followed back.

    Now let?s see? Where did we leave off last week??

    Oh yeah! Monetizing that heap of traffic we created! Yeah, that?s where we were heading.

    Do you remember the example we used last week ? the one slammed with banners everywhere? Well, that?s exactly what we WON?T do. Don?t be fooled into thinking taking short cuts, like setting dozens of soulless automated blogs ? this will not get you the results you?re looking for.

                                      I was not talking about any obvious "Click-Me" flashing button here. This would have been a retarded way of asking for a ban, I do agree with you on that.

                                      We've been using "build up" techniques on 100's of our tumblrs for years now without having a single one banned.

                                      I would tend to believe that all these banner-slammed blogs with no followers, reblogs or comments, without original content would be banned way before any socially active, content-rich page built following this guide's model...

                                              No offense taken. Using hyphens and keywords in your tumblr's URL to better get picked by SE isn't a secret for anyone. That's the only thing that was to be understood from this example.

                                                      You want it to be shared. The more it?s shared, the more authority and notoriety you?ll get.


                                                      Humor is your Ally.
                                                      Think fun over porn and people will be inclined to share it.

                                                      Be smart. Blend in your links.
                                                      Don?t SPAM your banners all over the place.

                                                      Know your audience.
                                                      Know what they like and how they want it.

                                                      Quality over Quantity.
                                                      It requires a little more effort but it will last and it will pay off.

                                                      Respect Copyrights
                                                      Use content that you have the rights to, Create it if you can , else sponsors will be happy to provide the content if you help them building their brand and if you generate traffic and leads.

                                                                                              It also depends on what you're promoting.

                                                                                                      Yes, there are are many porn blogs... just search juicyads for "tumblr", see the results and click follow, then re-post and so on.

                                                                                                      Don't use banner and stuff like that directly into the post because you'll sound the alarm at tumblr. Just put your blog name with link included when you re-post because it will show on any note of that original pic.

                                                                                                      Tumblr themes are very customizable so you can add banners and stuff directly into theme ,but like always don't over do it...

                                                                                                      As final word, don't expect too much from the tumblr traffic. Most surfers go there because it's free and they find good stuff for free, they would rarely buy something from an affiliate link....

                                                                                                                                                                          Tumblr deletes blogs containing affiliate links.

                                                                                                                                                                          They deleted my account because 1 of my 3 blogs contained affiliate links.

                                                                                                                                                                          If you add some affiliate link saying "click here for more" you will have problems. It happened to me.

                                                                                                                                                                          Click-through-the-pictures links is certainly a better idea because it would be more discrete.
                                                                                                                                                                          But what's the percentage of viewers who actually click on the pictures ? Pictures in the dashboard are already quite big (500px wide).

                                                                                                                                                                          Following people hoping they will follow you back is also a good idea. But maybe 10% of the people you follow will follow you back. So you have to unfollow people who are not following you back when you reach the 5000 blogs follow limit.

                                                                                                                                                                          In order to screw that follow limit, a good idea would be to create multiple accounts (don't know if Tumblr would like that). 1 niche per account. More than 5000 people following you back per single account, ...

I'm being very trepid because of comments like the one above by ibou who says "They deleted my account because of 1 of my 3 blogs contained affiliate links." I'm waiting to get the whole tutorial before beginning.

It's the next logical step for a successful Tumblr strategy, following what was explained in the two previous parts.

I think people are really enjoying this kind of material.

                                                                                                                                                                                      About Tumblr deleting blogs, it's sadly part of the game. We don't pretend having a flawless method of doing it. We told you about how WE were successfully promoting and making money with Tumblr blogs, and we never had a single page banned doing it that way...

                                                                                                                                                                                      From there, it's really up to you to fine tune your method and find what works for you best.

From there, well... it's up to them to push it to the next level. And that, may requires a little more research, practice and efforts than what's teached here.

                                                                                                                                                                                      But hey, the important thing to remember is that first and foremost, we're here to help our affiliates succeed and make more money along the way.
