The host, a VPN in CZ, claims its a Nigerian hacker who hacked one of his clients accounts.
They supposedly shut down the service. I wonder if the host is actually involved. Since our cases involve stolen credit cards I told them I was forwarding to the fbi.

So far in March my ratios are well down too.

1:2000 in jan and feb so it has been slowly rising but this month is a huge leap. No chargebacks or credits though.

yesterday 1:331 ,sales started coming in in a same way they were not coming in previous periods.

CCBill has been helpful in pinpointing user. My guess is his company is providing a platform for scammers all over eastern europe.

Basic analysis of HTTP headers (passive fingerprinting) and optionally a more detailed analysis of browsing habits would probably be enough to catch most scammers. I do this on my own site to detect scrapers, some of which use multiple proxies... but they all have a signature.

Bump anyone seeing really bad sales past few days? I notice the couple of sales that do flow in have no referring url and that usually happens when sales are lower than normal.. Just a coincidence ?
