I have to send a small amount of cash to the netherlands and the only option is by wire. Unfortunately I can't seem to get a straight answer from my bank or anyone else. The reason I'm asking is because various sources have told me different things.
To make sure $xx is received I think I need to overpay a certain amount in case of any deductions by intervening banks. That's on top of whatever fee I pay my own institution to send the wire.
How many euros/USD should I pad the transfer with to make sure my receiver gets the correct amount? And is this how it works?
