The real question is why the hell are people still asking for checks in 2013?

^^^^ that

i dont get why they are still used, in most countries they dont exist anymore since ages. here they look at us like aliens when we deposit a check - but not because what's written on there...

but for some weird reason we have some people who insist to pay this way

Because some people like a paper trail, and most places issue checks with no fee, so why should I pay $2 to get a digital payment when a check is just as reliable, and free... You're a big affiliate getting many checks a week, sometimes it's easier to keep track with a check than digital payments, and that $2 fee sometimes adds up a lot.

Simple answer in the US: because not all sponsors (including loadedcash?) offer free or reasonable cost ACH deposits. Wires are fine for payments above $1000 but it's still added fee$ for nothing. And when you're in the U.S. you don't need or want a middleman like Paxum.

Vendzilla 02-26-2013 07:09 PM

send the checks to epayservice, they can cash them for you. Make a spread sheet of the programs you use and build a list from there. One month of checking and it would be a lot easier

Problem is we have sooo many programs we promote that in a lot of cases we only make a few 100 a month with them so it's not worth paying high wire fees and all. So in a lot of cases best pick is the check option. Whenever they offer paxum though we move over of course as I think checks are indeed too last century :2 cents:

saving 5 figures per year in fees going from wires to check is why I went back to checks a couple years ago. Though finding out who most wires are from is even more of a pain in the ass than the checks.

sponsor example 1: $42 wire fee, $10 intermediary bank fee, $15 receiving fee = $67 just from 1 sponsor, twice per month = $1608 per year. From just ONE sponsor.

I wish they would stop printing their names on it.
Another bankaccount cancelled this month cause their tos says no porn...:(

long time no speak mate, hope all is well :thumbsup I think what everyone is saying (me certainly) is just to have the program name on the advice stub/portion, not the check itself. it almost always has affiliate id, period, $ per period if rolled over, etc, so to add the program name to that portion is a no-brainer imo

Which bank?

PornDiscounts-V 02-27-2013 05:42 AM

It really gets me when a program has the extra stub and doesn't put anything more than the payout dates... Or even if they put my affiliate ID many programs all have the same affiliate ID on my end... It can be as simple as putting something like:

BMINAD payout and I will know it was from Bang Me In The Ass Daddy.

I still opt to receive checks because they're reliable, the fees are low or there's no fee at all, and I don't trust my money or personal information with companies like Paxum. The only other payment method I use to receive my money is Paypal (which I have been using for 10+ years and have only had great experiences with).

I love spread sheets, I would be matching up amounts keeping track. But as far as epayservice, they really can cash your checks for you. Just have the checks go there and load a card for you. A lot easier than cashing the checks yourself.

What i meant is if you don't think we have a complete backend in place just for sponsors and to keep track of all than well.....

Gator 02-27-2013 10:47 PM

Well what? We are all not so smart on GFY forums. Just kidding.

Good luck with your check issues. I wish I had that problem.
