				Anyone have this ICQ problem?

I've had this happen for the last few days, and I'm not sure how to solve it. I have build 5977, and I have not changed any of the settings.

Before it went haywire, when I signed in, I had a conversation window, and a contacts window combined. Anyone that sent me a message when I was offline was at the top, and I could easily read their message when I signed back on. Along with that was the little individual popup notification in my tray about new messages. Now I'm not getting that. I get the tray notifications, but I can only see them for an instant when they popup, then they go to my task bar, and I cannot click on them to get them to open again. Nor does the contact show at the top of my contacts list. So in short, people are sending me messages that I am not able to see the alerts for. Today I had 3 offline messages. I could see the names of the first two as the alert flashed, but the 3rd one is a mystery to me. Any ideas on what I can try to fix it?

I'm not a tech, but if I had that situation I'd try to restore it to default settings. If that didn't work I'd probably uninstall it and reinstall it, and failing that, I'd likely upgrade to the latest version or find an alternative to access it like Miranda or Trillian.

Personally I've found that ICQ sucks (I have regular login problems with it).. and I'd suggest switching to Skype

Uninstall ICQ would be my suggestion. Use something decent.

That's probably the route I'll take, Ruth. I always get leery when I uninstall it. I'm afraid it will gobble up all the years of history.

It's not my favorite application, but I like to keep other stuff somewhat separate so that at the end of the day, I can turn work off, to a degree, yet still be available.

I had a similar problem- several messages didn't come up. When I reboot they all come at once.
