    Everybody gets that it's not "Obama's Sequester," right?

    Don't fall for the GOP's bullshit.

    The latest semantic spin is to call the looming $1.2 trillion in cuts, which could throw the whole economy back into recession, ?Obama?s Sequester.? House Speaker John Boehner indulged this approach half a dozen times in a floor speech before he went on break, establishing its place in the talking-points firmament.

    There are a couple problems with this tactic, as my colleague Michael Tomasky pointed out Tuesday. Congress passed sequestration before the president signed it, and the whole self-defeating exercise was carried out in response to Tea Party Republicans? insistence that we play chicken with the debt ceiling, which ultimately cost America its AAA credit rating.

    But here?s the thing. I happened to come across an old email that throws cold water on House Republicans? attempts to call this ?Obama?s Sequester.? ...

Instead of fixing the problem they just kick the can down the road a little and then in a few months they have to deal with the next crisis to keep the country from collapsing. This way they don't actually have to do anything and can blame the other side for not getting anything done.

                                          Congress passed a law called the Budget Control Act Of 2011.

                                          President Obama signed it into law.

                                          Everybody congratulated each other on it. Republicans and Democrats. It was a great day! The news media hailed it as a huge step forward in getting our credit rating back and addressing the debt and deficit problems.

                                          Today...Pres. Obama is pretending that this is some horrible nightmare that must never happend. And Congress is doing the same thing!

                                          Meanwhile...the exact same media news anchors who were joyous and proclaiming The Budget Control Act Of 2011 as a tremendous show of leadership from Pres. Obama in 2011 are now grimly reporting about the horrible "sequestration" that will destroy the country.

                                          It's a goddamn insult to all of us how these politicians and the media are playing us like fools.
                                          Bottom line is...the govt. doesn't want to cut ANYTHING. Cutting takes away the money they are taking from us and diminishes their power.

                                                  Here's how it works from... If this vote fails before the deadline, Congress stops. No paycheck, no drivers, no security. No phones, no lights in their offices. No free haircuts - Congress has it's own barber - no paychecks (again), and Congress's secret little bank shuts down meaning no checks can be written.

                                                  On top of this, they aren't allowed to leave Washington DC until the problem is fixed.

                                                  You want to see shit get done in Congress - shut their crap off. Take away all of their perks and paychecks, they'll fucking jump for us.

                                                                                                          In 2013...not so much. Those particular problems that Eisenhower was working on have been addressed for 57 years now.

                                                                                                          Kinda like how the federal govt. waged a "war on poverty" starting decades ago, spent TRILLIONS of dollars...and yet the streets are still full of homeless people living in poverty.

                                                                                                          I think (no..I KNOW) that in the beginning a lot of things the feds try to do have sincere intentions.
                                                                                                          But after a few years they become bureaucracies and employers of govt. employees. And they then become never-ending money pits because it becomes what people do to earn a GOOD living.

                                                                                                          They no longer address an actual problem, but instead are just another govt. job being paid for by tax dollars while current issues that really could use some federal oversight are shortchanged.

                                                                                                                              They all got into those positions saying they wanted to work for the people.

                                                                                                                              The reality is they got in to get paid. Its a Job for gods sake. But even then while getting paid they are fucking it off just to make more.
