    Wordpress: Manual or one-click install

The one-click install is a great feature, but I was wondering if there is a benefit to installing Wordpress manually.

Not really, there's nothing you can't go in and modify later if you want to

Manual is good for things like creating networks with your custom php/themes/plugins/etc all at once.
If you're just doing a regular WP install, one click install is best to avoid problems.

I prefer to SSH in, extract the tar and setup mysql with the CLI. It's really not hard, and it's a good reminder for me of where everything is when I need to make changes later.

1 click installs are preferred by most nowadays.

Prefer to import latest.tar.gz from wordpress and go from that. Fantastico etc is always out of date.

Exactly. It's good to see someone who isn't helpless. You're a rarity these days.

He wants to know if it makes a difference or adversely affects him, idiots.

It doesn't. You can still customize as need be.

if someone says they prefer x it means it does matter in their opinion. you dont get this thats prolly why you use one click installs
