The one-click install is a great feature, but I was wondering if there is a benefit to installing Wordpress manually.

with one click installs most web host have it set up to install MSQL automatically which is great for people like me. other then that I don't see no difference.Comment

Manual is good for things like creating networks with your custom php/themes/plugins/etc all at once.
If you're just doing a regular WP install, one click install is best to avoid problems.

Prefer to import latest.tar.gz from wordpress and go from that. Fantastico etc is always out of date.↑ see post ↑
