This is true, but you have to take it in proper context. This was during WWII, everyone was tired of fighting, and at the time this was just a "bigger bomb". It wasn't until years later when the rest of the world feared the nuclear bomb that it became an evil thing.

I don't understand the race to join the nuclear club. If North Korea gets the bomb next week, it's not going to change a thing - because the US will still have the bomb. Launch one and that's that.

Death Penalty for capital murder applies state to state. Some have it, and some don't. I don't agree with it.

There is no country on earth that has not committed atrocities. Russia is pretty high up on the list offenders, so I'm not sure that you would want to hold it up as a great example of any sort of virtue.

You said in this thread that to say that it is wrong is to show "intolerance toward other cultures". You even compared anyone saying that it is wrong to the Nazi's! Therefore, as long as it's "another culture", then it's ok with you....

There is the death penalty in Russia - There is a moratorium because the Europeans told the Russian government they had to have at least that to trade with us.

P.S. FYI the moratorium has ended, but the death penalty was not legalized after that. RTFM.
