As I am probably one of the more qualified to answer this one for 1) being a woman 2) being a cam whore (amongst the many other stuff I do: yes Mark some of us actually have an education and have other interests and businesses) 3) being pregnant 8.5 months with identical twin girls ( Yes you guessed right: 100's of (MFC) requests for privates with my twin girls when they turn 18 .... pervs never change :1orglaugh )
Would I forbid my girls to work in the cam industry? Well with 18 the girls would be able to decide what they want to do for themselves wouldn't they?
And no I would not forbid them to do this kind of work... as I do the work with great pleasure myself most of the time ..and that without 'ramming toys up my butt ' all day on MFC......
Some of us made the choice to to work on cam and when you are one of the lucky few that make a very healthy income on cam it is a pretty damn good job with a lot of freedom ..... For those less fortunate (the great majority) it is very hard work with lots of hours for a few $$ per hour and a lot of verbal abuse by freeloaders and unpleasant pervs....

^^^^really well stated
anyone who works in this field realizes that there isn't one monolithic cam girl 'experience' so for me my main concern would be why my daughter chose to get into this line of work. It can be the best job in the world for those who earn well and enjoy the freedom that comes with the nature of the work, but it can be a horrible job for those who dislike the work, struggle to earn and have few options. In that sense those who work within the field mirror larger society. Not everyone is born into equal circumstances, and some people have a wider range of options and resources to draw upon based on factors such as health, access to education and family background (read: $$$$) Often those three factors are entwined. The reasons why individual women (and men) get into camming are largely based on those factors.
For some this work is a choice amongst many options, a way to bump a middle-class income available in other forms of work into the -upper range. For some this work is the only viable option to put food on the table and keep a roof over their head, a way to keep grinding, absolute poverty at bay. For others camming provides the funding to achieve other goals. None of these groups are less 'moral' or worthy of condemnation than the others
If I had kids (I don't) or planned upon doing so (fuck no) I'd probably want for them what I imagine every parent wants. I'd want my daughter to be in the position to make choices in her life based on what she wants, not what she is forced to do by circumstance. I wouldn't want my daughter to have no choice but to cam, but I wouldn't want her to have to work work in a sweatshop in Bangladesh for 12 cents an hour or be a low-paid food service worker in North America either.
If she wanted to cam I can't imagine having an issue with it, provided it was a choice she entered into understanding both the risks and benefits involved. I'd want her to be safe, healthy, happy. How my hypothetical 18 year old daughter would chose to define that would be up to her.
