Why do people get praised for losing weight ??

Unless the original weight gain was through health reasons obviously, which is a different story.

But every day there's a story on some stupid celebrity, or just someone in the general public, who used to be a fat ass because they ate like fucking pigs everyday for 10 years, but now lost a lot of that weight, and now weigh basically what most normal sized people weigh in the first place.

Why does that deserve praise ??

This is the latest Z list celeb that seems to be in the papers here all the time now since she lost weight.

She should be ashamed she let herself get into such a mess in the first place...

Under that dress she is still a mess. That loose saggy skin didn't go away.

For the same reason we praise people who stop drinking or doing drugs.

Anyone that notices a problem in their life and fixes it should be praised for recognizing the issue and putting forth the effort to fix it. Whether or not they caused the problem is irrelevant, nobody is perfect. Striving to become a better person is a quality that few people have.

For example, you have a potty mouth (not that I don't LOL.) But your mother might praise you if you corrected it. I know mine would!

because everyone knows how fucking difficult it is to keep up the discipline to lose weight compared to eating like a pig

            I wouldn't praise them either.

I drink, but if i stopped i sure as hell wouldn't be looking for praise for it...

Probably because it's a difficult thing to do. If you stop dieting and exercising you could very easily lose all your progress. People want other people to be healthy. In the case of celebs though, I do see what you mean -- who cares?

why would you or anyone have a problem with something that is positive like this? Not enough of it going around so I say go for it..
