New Credit Cards! Welcome to the 90's USA

Found this article on CNN yesterday. Got a new credit card in the mail? Here's why - Sep. 25, 2015 Exciting news. Americans are getting Chip Credit Cards. That's absolutely awesome, except that Canada has had them since the 90's and some other countries even longer then that.

Oh, but there is one slight difference...with American chip cards you will still have to sign, unlike other countries where you simply enter a pin code. (ie. almost zero chance of fraud).

I don't get it. Is it against American's constitutional rights to have to remember a pin code?

Anxiously awaiting the next big news from the USA...colors and other anti counterfeiting measures are being added to American bills...kinda like all those other countries that have been doing it for years and have a considerably lower counterfeit rate.

Nothing like getting a check for $20k, having only 1 person person at your bank who knows what to do with that and then waiting 6 weeks for your money.

Americans are SO stupid.

Quick edit: Except for any yanks on this forum. You are all either really knowledgeable and intellectual or you are great Googlers and brilliant at passing information off as your own.
Most just like to argue though.

BTW Aussies are just as stupid, particularly AK.

yes, I heard the official explanation is that it would be too hard to remember the code for signifficant part of population. Banks were against pins, expected pincodes to hit transaction count in the country. Also something about highly competitive US retail sector and what not.

Like the American public has anything to do with the operational policies of Visa or Mastercard.

Average American has more than one credit card. I have a dozen between all of my different companies. Usually carry 4. I do not want to remember 4 different pin codes.

None, which is why I said I don't want to remember 4 different pin codes.
