There are many of the right on the Mississippi riverside at the end of the old French quarter. I don't think you'll need a map there

In my opinion, there is so much good food in NO that it's hard to go wrong no matter where you choose. Emiril has a couple of places like NOLAs and Delmonico's - I think there's a third, but I don't remember it's name.
I always enjoy Ralph and Cuckoo's - followed by pints of Guinness at O'Flaherty's right across the street.
The Crescent City brew house is an interesting place - they have great pub fare on their lunch menu, but the dinner menu is closer to fine-dining. I remember having an incredible dinner there, but truthfully I was kind of tanked at the time.
For a lighter lunch, get a bowl of Jambalaya at the Cafe Mediterranean while enjoying live music in their open-air seating. They also have a decent Sunday brunch.
If you want some greasy grub after hitting the bars, check out the pink diner towards the gay end of Bourbon street. Their menu is hilarious with little comments interspersed like 'we might not always be right, but we are always pretty.'
If you want to house a lot of food, then the buffet at Harrah's is an option - though it's not particularly remarkable. Get a member's card, gamble for a bit, then hit up a pit-boss for a comp.

Could I recommend you to stay in this one: http://www.placedarmes.com/? It's a real old hotel, a few feet away from the Bourbon street. As people say there are ghosts, but I never saw them there by myself

I stayed there once. We had an interior room with no windows, so after crashing for a bit, when we woke we had no idea if the time on the clock meant AM or PM.Could I recommend you to stay in this one: http://www.placedarmes.com/? There are so many good restaurants in New Orleans, but you should def try NOLA.

that's felix's, and it's better than acme, but it fell on some hard times. last time I was there they had their beer/wine license suspended. hopefully that's sorted out by now. acme is a tourist trap.LOVERCASH.COM

It's hard to go wrong in the French Quarter. Just make sure you have one of those Fried Oyster Poboys! They are out of this world!Comment

Really don't need to plan..
I was born and raised in New Alins and great grub is everywhere. Plans are difficult unless your making reservations because so many places are too packed to eat. Its then you start to resent the tourism.
I would wing it, try to find a few secret places and stick to them.10 years of experience in:
