Thats pretty ignorant, the flowers work just fine, even the leaves if you have enough.. its just different levels of the active ingredient.. Not that I'd ever go near it after friends took it in highschool...

Had a pall (now deceased) who once ate a handful of Datura seeds, he lost his vision for a day. When he recovered his sight it was in black and white for 2 weeks!

A few guys from my city died years ago, they picked lots datura growing near a supermarket parking here, and made an infuse or thea, too concentrated and amount and overdose in few hours to death. No idea they had hallucinations but no one here touch Datura since.
