I've always wondered why. Is it because it's high risk? Isn't 15 cents on a dollar still 15%? There must be a good reason or Epoch or NetBilling would have figured something out.

I can think of quite a few uses for micro payments in adult.

Might be possible for third party processors. Anyone remember when I-Bill added a $1 transaction (charity donation?) to each purchase?

I always thought that their intent was to double the number of transactions this way cutting in half their charge back ratios.

Micropayments would add enormously to the bottom line, but they are difficult because processors are very risk averse.

I have offered to develop such a processor but none of the big boys (Manwin, MFC, Pimproll, etc) has accepted a meeting (I probably wouldn't either, to be fair)

Stuart Lawley (ICM registry CEO) says he has one coming out "like iTunes" but the problem is that micropayments have to happen at impulse requiring a lucid period which takes the consumer out of his focused drive toward reward. For MPs to work they need to be simple enough to allow continued focus. I think that requires a "balance" that would follow consumers around, such as MFC tokens or PornDiamonds or something like that.

Point of sale capability is being built into phones (pay .33 to this code) might work but again they'll probably avoid adult. Hey, hotels eventually allowed adult charges to rooms, but clerks says that is far and away the biggest chargeback, with wives saying "My husband would never have rented that!"
