What kind do you use? Just switched the house to Energy Saver bulbs only thing that sucks about those is takes a while for lights to be at full glow, but they last forever hardly ever have to fall off a chair anymore changing bulbs frequently.

And they are full of mercury so when you break one you have to open all the windows in the house and call the hazmat team to clean it up. also when these things wind up in the trash over the years they will poison the ground water.
I don't know about you but when I was a kid we use to have fun breaking light bulbs. I don't think the kids have stoped doing it so, Yeah, really good idea to use them and make a law forcing so called free americans in a capitalist society to buy them.

Calm down. Every florescent bulb contains mercury. So there is mercury in every office building, school, hospital and just about any other building.
Secondly, if all of the CLFs sold were improperly disposed of in landfills each year, it would equal about 0.1% of our what the US puts out in mercury.
