Mobile sites?

Google put out a report a little while ago showing almost 50% of their traffic came from a mobile device... 2013 will surpass 50%
I buy shit all the time on my iPhone and iPad. There are a ton of providers and even FREE solutions out there to make mobile sites.
I started pushing mobile in adult years ago, back when no one thought it was making money and was an EASY $2k to $3k a month from my small affiliate sites.Email: Clicky on MeComment

Good Lord, does Bob really think he is the 1st to understand this concept?
I guess maybe for the non-techie this might be new 'news' but for anyone that runs a site now that watches their stats can see this pretty easily and clearly.
Am I missing something though? A mobile website? Our approach has been to make sure each of our sites are optimized and designed for mobile first and usually that translates backwards to a cleaner and meaner experience for the desktop users.

Parsons is looking at a view of Godaddy's users -- 75% of those user accounts don't make money hence the 25% penetration?
Most major websites have mobile editions and apps and are either monetizing now or are profitable already.
So, like welcome to the past. See the marketing adoption curve, i.e., Late adapters and laggards ...Comment

1) if I buy from my android phone it isn't new business. It just shifted from me sitting in front of my computer to buy something.
2) I always click the link to see the site in full screen. I hate mobile sites. I got my big screen Android phone so I could enjoy full sites. Not so that I could surf the web the same way I did on my Symbian phone.

Not looking forward to the future.
I can't stand using my phone to look online. I hate it. However, I enjoy taking a dump and using my iPad to look online and play Angry Birds. That's about it. For everything else I want a big ass screen and a fast system that I can do anything on.
Oh, I also dislike touch screen. I like to feel real keys on my fingers, a mouse in my hand, and my wrist on a mouse pad. Touching a flat screen just doesn't feel right to me. Though, it is great for Angry Birds while I poop. But typing and surfing just doesn't feel good.Comment

90% of mobile sites are bullshit. Even ones that someone spent a shit ton of money on like, expedia and hotwire. I have my iPad and Droid both set to request pages as a desktop browser to skip that shit.
The old "big thing" was making mobile websites for people viewing your site on a mobile device. The NEW "big thing" is tech companies making new mobile devices with big enough screens to view desktop optimized pages correctly.
Get with the program, fucking Bob.ICQ 683324361Comment

Its big money right now for them because they just partnered with a mobile optimization company, so yes, he is right, it is the NEXT big thing for them because I'd guess that around 90% of their customer base have not even thought about mobile marketing for their carpet cleaning business ;)Comment
