I need better video software yo

I've been fucking with Sony's Vegas Home Studio for too long now...it works about 30% of the time and I never know if it is going to work until I attempt to render my video which is after I've spent all the time editing and cutting. Someone please tell me what I need to get...I need something that works with .mp4, .flv, wmv, mov, avi and any others would be a bonus! Obviously I need to be able to watermark, cut, add effects and title screens....would be great if this software had video screen capture capabilities too.

Surprised you had problems with Vegas. I've grown up with premiere so can't leave it totally. But Vegas is good, damn good. And it seems to work with all manner of formats that premier baulks at.

IMHO, it sounds like your video subsystem is a bit fucked. Try uninstalling all the codec packs and video players you've got and see if Vegas behaves then. If it does, add VLC becuase thats harmless. Then add ONE codec pack and see if it then causes you problems.

Its just Vegas Home Studio which is like the poor mans version I think......but I will take your advice on the codec removal and see what I come up with.......after renoving the codecs do I need to uninstall and reinstall VHS?

If you're on a Apple computer, FCPX is great once you get accustomed to it. I can do everything I was able to do in FCP.

                Spend you some brain.

the issue is using a $60 app and thinking you'll get the performance of a $600 app...

This may be a silly question, but is your copy of Vegas a real one or cracked? I've read a lot about the cracked versions having problems. If it is cracked, buy it. It works. However, note that Vegas and many other video editing software do not make the best encoders. That is why companies make stand alone encoders which usually do a much better job.
