Here we go again, someone or some organization making yet another push for the US to join the rest of the known universe in using the far simpler and far more organized metric system for weights and measures. Their medical field already does, by the way. When an American nurse or doctor talks about giving someone "10 cc's" of something, cc is CUBIC CENTIMETER. They aren't talking teaspoons and quarts in US hospitals.
Anyway this has always been on my "It ain't never gonna happen in my lifetime" list, so I'm not going to start holding my breath, doubly so since it really doesn't much affect my life in any way if they want to stay in the dark ages of imperial measure.
Btw although metric is the official system in Canada (since the mid '70s) pounds and MPH/MPG and gallons and using feet for a person's height are still very much alive amongst the general population here.
