Advice needed - What SLR camera do I need?

I need a hobby that gets me out of the house - Photography seems a good option.

I am not talking pro content shoots here so I was thinking about £500ish, less if you think I don't need to spend that much.

I would like an all rounder but I especially like macro photography - So it would need to be good for that.

This is a totally new area for me so I don't even know what brands to look at.

If it features here http://www.isme.com/electricals/digi...r/e/b/4828.end that would be good as I can get an interest free deal. Not essential though if they are all shit.

      Thanks!

The D3200 was the one I liked the look of.

Would it be good for the macro shots?

For sure. Just make sure you buy a Macro Lens.

That was my next question - A friend of mine has a seriously high end but old lens for Macro - It was made for a film camera - Would that work on a digital SLR?

Sorry for the stupid questions .

depend on the lens mount a nikon mount will work on a nikon camera but you may have to set the exposure manually depending on how old the lens is

Ahh - OK - Its not Nikon - I assumed that it was all standard - As I was planning on using a lot of his old stuff I may have to up the budget.

Or is Nikon used as a standard by the other manufacturers?

              Thanks again....

The canon rebel line is also a good choice.

                  Especially for the money.
You can get a rebel t3i and a 250mm zoom lens for around $650 USD

I use a T3 and it takes really great pictures for hobby use.
