The video I saw of a firearm taken from the vehicle didn't look like an AR-15, but here's some Nutnfancy ranting to entertain you.

That is a shotgun not the AR-15 rifle that they actually removed on the video

You didn't actually see them pull the AR out but now they say it was in the car.

if he just had a set of revolvers (6 shooters) alot less people would be dead or a mother who was fucking smart enough to realize my son has serious problems. Let me lock up my guns or let me put them somewhere else til he is stabilized. Now it could be said if she had to go thru proper training to buy those guns. She would of known to lock up them up properly.

It doesn't take much common sense to keep your guns locked up from your kids.

                      Exactly right.
If people would be responsible with common sense especially in this situation we wouldn't be listening to all the Liberals crying about more gun laws because clearly the only salvation in this situation is more government regulations.

I agree. They should teach it in a class before letting people have kids.

There's also the possibility she *did* have the guns locked up and he broke his way in to get them.

Not that this should absolve her of partial blame, though. With the kid being as unstable as they say he was...she should've kept the guns stored at a gun range - at the very least until the kid was no longer at home or had access to them.

I never locked up my guns from my kid, I took her shooting. Common sense is having a kid you can trust with a gun, not having to baby proof their life...
Carbon is not the problem, it makes up 0.041% of our atmosphere , 95% of that is from Volcanos and decomposing plants and stuff. So people in the US are responsible for 13% of the carbon in the atmosphere which 95% is not from Humans, like cars and trucks and stuff and they want to spend trillions to fix it while Solar Panel plants are powered by coal plants
                              think about that

The trouble with that philosophy is - common sense isn't so common these days.

                                It's not so much baby-proofing YOUR kid's life...it's someone else's.

While I accept that you may be a responsible gun owner and have taken the time to pass that along to your children - obviously we're seeing many others who aren't.

All kids mature at a different age and develop a sense of responsibility at different times - some never do. It's not always an easy task to determine where the line is drawn.

No - Common sense is knowing you don't know who had access to your guns. If your kid had access to your guns, so did all of your kid's friend's - and you have no idea what issues your kid's friends had.

this "kid" is 18 years old. he is hardly a kid. He is in England technically an adult.

There should have been no need to lock away the guns from other adults.

I never had any problems with the friends of my daughter or any other kid.

I took hunter safety course at 16, by then I had been shooting for 7 years

My daughter, if anyone of her friends did anything disrespectful in our house, she would have kicked them out. Before any kid spent any time in my house, I met their parents. Before my daughter spent anytime at a friends house, I met their parents. I had their parents names and phone numbers. It was common sense by design. Most of the families that lived in my area where I raised her had hunters in the house, so they were raised around firearms as well. Never heard of any kids in the area shooting themselves or taking a gun to class.
