Many people get depressed from smoking weed. It fucks with your brain. It also causes paranoia and other mental conditions for a lot of people.
Not that i care how it affects junkies but i just think it's quite retarded how they act like it's a medicine. For every truly ill user that might have some slight benefits from smoking weed 1000 others suffer from mental conditions because of this "medicine".
Not that any weed junkie cares about the "benefits" of weed. They just want to get high as possible. All day long.Comment

As far as I know, everyone that uses the same cannabis collective as I do, has a medical marijuana card issued by a licensed Medical Doctor.
With that said, I don't have a problem with any adults using cannabis recreationally if they wish to. I would rather have people purchasing cannabis through a storefront and paying taxes on their purchases, than have them buying whatever the local dealer is selling out of his apartment, or the foreign drug cartel is importing.

I do have a problem with the fact that those same people actually don't give a shit about any benefits of weed whatsoever. They just want to get high. It was unimaginable to me as a kid that cannabis would ever be legalized, yet today I can walk into any one of hundreds of clinics and purchase many varieties of cannabis which can be consumed in a variety of ways.
In my case, I dislike smoking anything, so I generally vaporize my cannabis or consume it in edible form.
While I grant you that there are many more people that likely consume cannabis for recreational rather than medicinal purposes, nonetheless many, many people, do use cannabis for medical purposes on a regular basis.
Try visiting a clinic firsthand and you will meet people there with a variety of ailments, that will testify honestly that their lives are improved as a result of being able to legally consume cannabis.

I am always surprised at how many people smoke weed.
Case in point: I go to my 14yo daughters softball tournament in some far flung city. At night it gets foggy. While I am out strolling I notice a patch of fog that reminds me of my days as a welder. Bright orange/yellow light keeps going off like an arc. Intrigued I investigate. Turns out it is about 15 or 16 of the parents, coaches and one of the umpires smoking some doobies. The cross section of parents ranges from a doctor to an assembly line worker to a housewife to a child psychologist. For a split second I was shocked. Then I got stoned.Comment
