I already had a pimped out AR but bought a Sig 556 to add to my collection while they are still available. I'm not sure what's going to happen over this shooting but the gov will do something.

After 9/11 I bought a shit load of box knives but that hasn't yielded any profit yet.

In 1988, I built a CAR-15 through the mail, by ordering all of the parts and assembling myself. A licensed dealer had to handle the lower receiver order, but other than that I was able to get all the parts myself. I had to get some help with the gas line installation and barrel torque.

I sold it to a gun store before I went into the Navy. The way things are going now, I'll probably never have another one.

I was at a pawn shop this week looking at guns and everything was the same price

same for sporting good stores - all still the same price. The private sellers are the ones jacking the price up.

but i have a feeling today people will be buying them in mass.

Didn't the AR15 one of the recent shooters used jam on him? I like AR15's and have several, however for home defense I would never in a million years use a AR15. They jam at the worst times. True, I have some 8 round Mossberg 500 pumps, but I still prefer the 8 round semi-automatic. I jsut picked it up a few weeks ago, was amazed at how fast it cycles, actually faster than my Saigas. I did not think a tube mag could reload so fast. It is nice having the 10 round Saiga Clips, but 8 rounds is enough.

Just for fun I checked with the local gun stores..

The colt LE6920 was 1100 on Friday by Wednesday it was $1799.00

On Thursday I called the store again they said they are $1900 and going up by the hour. Half an hour later I stopped into the store and they were $1999.00 - About 10 min after that quoted price, with 50 people milling around in the store, they announced the price went up to $2200

I wasn't looking to buy anything, just checking out the mayhem. They said that the store had purchased quite a few rifles from other stores and suppliers at high prices so as they sold through them, they had to increase the price based on what they had to pay to receive them.

I would almost bet that the worst that will come from this is smaller magazines, and closing the loophole on no background checks at gun shows.. all of this panic is probably for nothing... I had wanted an AR15, but now I'll probably have the opposite reaction as everyone else and just pick one up after the dust (and price) settles..

If anything, people might want to just pick up some additional high capacity magazines and wait a little bit to buy the assault rifle of their choice..... Unless of course you are a felon.. if that's the case, hit a gun show ASAP.. lmao.

They tried to mag ban years ago but lifted it after they did a study and found that it had no impact.

They can ban assault rifles and high capacity mags but it will have little effect. Once again, not the root cause. Hell, they can ban guns altogether and people will still find a way to kill each other.
