They should be banned. They are weapons of war. Nobody hunts with an assault rifle. Nobody needs one to stop a home invasion. They are designed to kill people en mass - that's it. Rapid fire guns are what the psychos use in these mass killings. Outlaw the sale of them. If the gun nuts don't like it, tough shit. We have a right to live without weekly massacres.

As a PsyHead hippe I vote for banning the guns and/or have more strict regulations who can have any, etc. Here in Hungary I have a few friends who hunt, and they need to keep the guns very well hidden at home to comply for the policy about this. Anyone who thinks I will instantly be awake at the first sight of trouble, spring into action while the James Bond music kicks in, somersault down the stairs, and shoot an armed intruder in the dark watches way too much fucking TV.
The cops woke me up one night; They thought there was some kind of domestic disturbance at my house when it was really a few doors down. It took me five full minutes to wake up, figure out what was going on, move my ass down stairs, turn on the lights, ID who was outside, turn off the alarm, and open up the front door.
We have the right to bear arms. Did it protect these kids? The people at the mall? The people at the movies? The people at the college? Nope.
