However, when you are staking out a known felon who is considered armed and dangerous and he jumps out at you, it's a different story.

Last night this was on the news, which was on directly after Glee. My kid watched it with me. I think the worst thing a child can see is another person being killed.

The cop was desperately searching for something, anything to "prove" he was justified in murdering the guy. He even went so far as to open the guys pants and check his scrotum as if somehow the dude had time to stuff the knife into his pants while the cop unloaded into him.

Also, the guy didn't go after the cop. He may have panicked sure, but it's pretty clear to me that his leg got caught on something and he lost his balance right as the cop unloaded into him.

Not like the cop will get anything more than a medal of honor for this nonsense though. Cops protect their own.

Add to all of that that so many people are actually defending the cop. And you morons wonder why America is currently in the downward spiral of a toilet flush...

Exactly. Not many people have been in situations where people try to kill you. When you are in LE, military, VIP protection etc. you look at the world and threats to your life differently.. .

the cop pulled up behind boxing him in. That means 'stay the fuck in teh car till you're told otherwise'.. dude tried crawling through the car to the passenger side, he was warned, dude pops out hte passenger side, the cop STILL hasn't shot him, and tells him to put his hands up, and dude decides to ignore this and go back into the car for the floor

I have spent the past 30 minutes analyzing the first minute of this video.

Conclusion: He didn't know it was a police officer yelling at him and freaked out.

We see the white truck pull into the drive and then the cop pulls up behind them. He opens the truck's door, likely not knowing the cop is back there.

The cop then yells:

"Hands up. Hands up, Ernie! Don't you move! Ernie, don't you move I will shoot you!"

All of that is said before Ernie exits the car. He doesn't know who is yelling at him. He doesn't know who is threatening to shoot him.

He is likely in a state of panic as he exits the truck and thus does not respond well to the officer's orders and instead dances around.

He is then shot.

And what countries would that be? Do you think that cops in Brazil or South Africa are less violent and less prone to shoot first and ask quastions later?
