One of the biggest mistakes I see is that when you hear them talk to the guys in the lander which is almost touching down there's not a sound from the roaring rocket engine just beneath them.. and in later interviews the astronauts mention that the noise from the very same engine was very very loud..

My point about the in the article it talks about the amount of time spent within the van allen belts. Today's satellites have problems because they spend months and years within the radiation, rather then just a few hours, as in the case of the moon shots.

Also, in many ways, the simple mechanical gauges, valves, and verniers that made up the computers in those moon shots were much more robust in their resistance to radiation than today's electronics. They didn't have much in the way of micro processors, or RAM or hard drives.

The other thought about this theory is the fact the Van Allen Belt is a shield for radiation, solar flares etc one of the Russian attempts had all the astronauts coming back black lol
