Biggest domain sale of the year is Brand.com for $500k?!?

Doesn't that seem low for the record this year?

The owner wasn't even willing to consider offers less than 7 figures and ended up taking a half a million.

In a world where half the people think Facebook is the internet, domain names aren't the big deal they used to be.

It's not a top tier domain. Bigger domains won't be sold until the money is right.
Yes, it's a very good domain... But it's not something on the scale of loans.com or mortgage.com

You pretty much nailed it. Any other response to to this thread would be pretty much retarded. What blows my mind is that somebody doesn't get it and would have the gall to post the question here. Some people are just born stupid I guess.

My point though was that $500k is the biggest single sale of the year and we are already more than halfway through? There hasn't been one at a million or even three quarters of a million this year?

Yeah, because businesses say "well there is Facebook now, so mybusinessonmaplestreet.com is good enough for my business."

Your trolling is getting weak, son.

              2012:

              Investing.com $2,450,000
              PersonalLoans.com $1,000,000
              Silver.com $875,000
              FreeWebsite.com $500,000
              Webhosting.co.uk $500,000
              Challenge.com $500,000
              Jackpot.com $500,000

Gosh, Facebook really killed domain sales when it launched this year.
