Actually, I can see a slight resemblance - pudgy, same receding hairline, beady eyes, thin lips, jowls...

I don't know what pic you are looking at Asian Lover, but Al has some pretty voluptuous lips in that pic... I know chicks who pay A LOT of money for lips like that... LOL

Carry on...

You know, it just amazes me sometimes how people in this industry go out of their way to celebrate the misfortunes of others. Especially those who are successful.

I'm sure some of you have an axe to grind with this man and his company, but for the most part it's all about jealousy.

And for those of you who are celebrating, keep this lovely thought in mind, this could be the German government's way of coming down on Mr. Thylmann for being in this industry in the first place. As Sperbonzo said earlier: "And at this point, tax law is so complex that almost everyone is breaking some part of it somewhere. It is then enforced on an as needed basis. Quite convenient for governments."

You could be dancing one minute and be in cuffs the next.

I agree... It really sucks to see that attitude in people.

I guess it's the obvious "jealous" attitude, because most people commenting like that are frustrated losers that are very jealous that a brilliant and talented guy like Fabian could become so big and made ManWin.

But that kind of losers are the same idiots looking for a job, because they are fucking broke, and then go to ManWin site to submit an application for the company.

Fucking HYPOCRITES...

Usually agree with you in most posts, but can't do it here.

The business was destreoyed by everyone here.. Everyone is guilty, not just this guy..

We CANNOT Blame anyone else, but ourselves..

And you still see idiots nowadays destroying it, when they REJECT to accept the current situation of the business.

For example, when someone opens a thread to try to accept the problem, there is always some idiot coming in and saying: "My sales are better than ever, the business is better than ever, cams cams cams"... That kind of attitude keeps destroying it.

If people can't accept the problem, we won't find a solution.

I don't think it's all Fabian either. I get just as frustrated with all that bullshit as well. But Manwin is the largest company in our industry and they wouldn't even so much as implement an honest three strikes program like Youtube has where after three infringements all the user's material are deleted. He has been asked repeatedly to do things like this many times. I know because I asked him myself here back in 2010. Many people did. Nothing was done. Instead it was always brushed off or outright refused with one excuse or another. Like I said he had many chances to go legitimate. I'll give him some credit in that maybe he did move slowly in that direction compared to the Mansef days but it wasn't near enough.

If Fabian gets out and still retains control of Manwin I hope the experience humbles him and makes him rethink some of things. I think it would be great if Manwin would set a positive example in the industry. God only knows the industry needs all the help it can get.

not disputing what you are saying, but the executives of those companies have not been arrested, quite the opposite,
starbucks have offered to pay 10,000,000 a year in taxes for the next couple of years,
but not because of a tax demand, but because people stopped using, and were boycotting and protesting outside the starbucks shops.

he is not in jail because people are boycotting pornhub

For the first time in our industry you are talking about the true mainstreaming of an adult company. Sure you might consider Playboy, Hustler & Noof but nothing like what has been happening with Manwin. They will have a team of attorney's , accountants etc.

Then consider the multi-national nature of their business and it's not all that surprising that something like this has happened.

Look at the major brands that have had serious tax issues just this year:

Dolce & Gabbana ( accused of evading more than ?400 million in tax )

Sprint ( Accused of $300-million in tax fraud )

Starbucks ( Accused of exploiting British tax laws to move UK-made profits overseas )

Google ( Accused of exploiting tax laws to move profits overseas )

Amazon ( Accused of exploiting tax laws to move profits overseas )

Google has picked Ireland and Bermuda as its main bases, while coffee chain Starbucks has its European base in The Netherlands and pays British tax only after transferring large sums in royalties to its Dutch headquarters. Retailer Amazon paid 1.8 million pounds ($2.9 million) in British tax in 2011, on turnover of 207 million pounds.

This kind of thing happens all the time. It almost always gets sorted out in the end. With the mainstreaming of Manwin.. I'll bet this all gets sorted out as well.

not a very good translation
but it says here why he was arrested (etc)
so a former employee, whistleblower, complainant made a complaint/statement about irregularities (in october) which would arouse suspicions of tax evasion, i.e. empty office buildings etc
and it had been reported in detail in september,
so the investigation had been going on for 2 months, although there is usually a file by the time it gets to a complaint.

The First Advent, they were already there. Discreet officials Steuerfahndung Koblenz crept around the building in the Hamburg Notkestraße. Investigators could be seen by an informant, the back doors and the location of the business premises of "Manwin Germany GmbH" record. What they wanted to know: Who has what key, and how would the threatening tall managing behave in a raid? When they were done, they said their informants yet: Before Christmas, we will not be beat.

A bluff. Two days later, it's Tuesday of last week, they moved again. Several dozen tax agents and police searched the 1,000-square-foot offices on two floors. My suspicion: Fraud in one of the largest providers of online pornography, the Manwin Group. It operates with the most clicks sex websites in the world. Belong to the Empire "Youporn", "Pornhub", "DELETED" and the German Amateursexportal "My Dirty Hobby". Some 1,000 people work for the group of companies Manwin. You build pages that are called about 16 billion times a month.

This network of more than 35 companies headquartered in Luxembourg. It has offices and subsidiaries as well as in Canada, Cyprus , USA , Ireland, the UK - and even here in the Hamburg Notkestraße. How to learn from the environment of the company is, the investigators seized in the raid not only computers and documents, but also ordered individual employees for questioning. They are particularly interested in the opaque network of companies and of who runs what sex site from where, and where its revenue.

At the same time investigators raided the private quarters of the CEOs and owners of Manwin. The 34-year-old German, Fabian Thylmann, was arrested later in the week, according to prosecutors in Belgium and waiting for his extradition to Germany .

In charge of the investigation, the prosecutor Cologne focusing on economic crime. It cooperates with the tax investigation Rhineland-Palatinate. "There is a suspicion of tax evasion," said the spokesman for the prosecutor Cologne. There must be considerable sums, because the prosecution has made Aachen the procedure specifically to the specialists from Cologne.

The company Manwin group was not reached for comment on Tuesday. Neither the headquarters in Luxembourg or in the Hamburg branch of the phone picked up. A request by mail also remained unanswered.

The "Welt am Sonntag" was described in detail in September in a cover story, the international porn empire by Fabian Thylmann. In the dossier, it was also about irregularities in the company's design, empty offices at headquarters and the testimony of former employees. In sum, through these oddities could the suspicion of tax evasion have emerged.

Thylmann has let then prohibit certain aspects of reporting a preliminary injunction. The editors of the "world" group has filed an objection. A decision of the court is for 19 Announced in December.

End of October, an informant who reported Manwin apparently knows very well from the inside, in the tax investigation and filed a complaint. The document is the "World." In the heart of the matter, which the subsidiary Amateursexportal "My Dirty Hobby" really operates. The Cypriot Colbette Holdings Limited, as Manwin CEO Fabian Thylmann affidavit. Or the hamburger "Manwin Germany GmbH", as it says in the ad. Here would be the suspected fraud, formulated the whistleblower. "The Colbette Holding is merely existing on paper."

Whoever runs the site. It's about a lot of money. Internal company documents suggest that only the portal "My Dirty Hobby" in the month converts approximately 2.5 million euros. The customer must pay with Internet currency "Dirty Cents" for the films consumed. "Dirty Cents" he buys with real euros.

The sex-page work again so that "amateurs" register and can adjust their self-produced porn film. Which is controlled from the Hamburg branch. The ad states: "From the moment about 15,000 registered amateurs from Germany about 5000 are really active." Few would have a trade account, it could tip earners monthly up to 15 000 euro earn their films.

Interestingly, there is another point: on the payroll of the amateurs, of which several of the "world" s, as the sender Colbette Holdings is listed, although the letters are stored in the computer of the Hamburg GmbH. Where invoices stated that the Cypriot tax is deducted by 17 percent - while living and working women and couples mainly in Germany.

The "Welt am Sonntag" had in their research on Cyprus Ltd no operational facilities for Colbette Holdings. can find. Also the headquarters of the holding company in Luxembourg was orphaned when visiting reporter.

If and when Fabian Thylmann is transferred to Germany, the Cologne public prosecutor could not tell on Monday. The Manwin-sex sites at night were still in operation.

No good professional PR rep would comment on a story like this before they put out a few positive press releases on company business (which they did with the lawsuit press release this morning). And you say nothing beyond "At this time we are awaiting a reading of the actual charges", and then wait for the until actual charges to be levied.

No GOOD publicist will throw gas on a fire like this, until they know exactly which way the wind is blowing.

I would grade their PR team with an A- though, only because you don't turn off the phones and email when shit like this hits the fan. That's as bad as saying "No comment", which you never ever do in any circumstances.

if thats all it is then he will be out and eating hot dogs pretty soon,
because the empty offices of Colbette Holdings are because of consolidation
(or what)

As Mike South "found", the Cyprus Vasillis Kaiser Souzer Kasillis trick it is very popular, but as someone else posted a meme "I don't do tax evasion; but if I do, I don't do it in Germany", I would add, where customers and employees are both german citizens.
I don't think Manwin made it 100% shady, as I remember having paid trafficjunky (the pornhub ad network) from at least 2011 with a wire to Commerzbank of Hamburg and an German company, not to Cyprus, so it could be the supposed issue is about what been done several years ago... in fact the tax people are always 1 to 3 years delayed with accountings. They can bust you today, even if you fixed it all, because they just figured you was doing wrong 3 years ago.
About mydirtyhobby I remember Fabian replying personally to the support forum, in fact I think at some point was doing this full time, before of mansef->manwin expansion, it hsould have been around 2009 when mydirtyhobby was supposedly bought by Virage (COHA GmbH? Fiscal Group Limited of Gibraltar?)... so my Guess it is the German tax guys are just about years old issue with mydirtyhobby, which they checked with today's assets which included all the north america stuff they wonder where it pops from. About Colbette Holdings (Cyprus) that was the ownership of webcams.com which was bought in 2010, so it is again 2, nearly 3 years ago stuff.
It could be likely be that they have to pay a fine for some german/cyprus questionable triangulation made in 2009-2010, then find that 2011 to today it is "ok". Unsure if really there's jail for this stuff, esp. if you pay your fines, it depends on German law and I know other countries law more.

My point was this happened last thursday it didnt break until monday they had a lot of time to get in front of it but they didnt, to me it would have been smart to defuse it before it broke...break it yourself...you know its coming, get in front of it instead of playing catch up

To say what? Fabian is being extradited to Germany and we are waiting to find out if Manwin, or Fabian, is being charged with tax evasion? How do you spin that? No lawyer worth his salt is going to let a PR rep worth their salt put that out, as there's nothing to be gained from it.

Worse, they could say "Hey, just wanted to let ya know our guy Fabian is being arrested on potential tax evasion and we don't have anything to do with him, so yeah . . . ."?

And above all else, you do not in any way put out a "press release" on a situation like this -- you get to dialing one on one with the press.

LOL point taken but heres what I expect is going to come from their PR folks (actually I was tipped off to this)

This is all Fabians personal finances and has nothing to do with Manwin or its day to day operations, Manwin is cooperating in full to make sure that everything is being done to correct any problems that we werent aware of. While we support Mtr Thylmann in full we would not condone any illegal or unethical behavior on his part and we will cooperate fully with the authorities to get this resolved in full.

(After all thats what Fabian was paid for)

Translated version:

"The FTD Thylmann had rejected the suspicion of tax evasion. "These allegations have neither head nor tail." Manwin was indeed established a tax-optimized, "but to suggest that as a tax, is simply incorrect." For the company structure a large accounting firm was responsible. On Tuesday of last week, several dozen officers from the tax investigation and police have raided the offices of a Hamburg branch of the international group of companies."

Too funny, everything in this after "This is all Fabians personal finances and has nothing to do with Manwin or its day to day operations" is word for word what I was "writing" in my head for a situation like this. But again, it would only come out after a) the lawyers approved anything going out, and b) at least two or three more positive press releases on business news. ;)

So a large accounting firm told Fabian to do this, if that's true should the accountant be charged in his place?

Manwin likes to present this facade of having their shit together, but they still manage to ball many things up on a regular basis.

I only watched Fabian's keynote address the first time yesterday, and I was surprised at how pitifully amateurish the whole thing was, and how little substance there was in Fabian's narrative about how he rose from a programmer to become the King of Porn a few short years later.

Fabian still holds the title CEO, and is purportedly the majority stockholder, so it is doubtful that the Board is going to throw him under the bus just yet, even if he is only a figurehead leader.

The fallout among Manwin investors should be of greater concern to Manwin's Board of Directors at this time.

Given the fact that Manwin sought to have the September article about tax irregularities suppressed, it is likely that Manwin knew it was under investigation for some time, and probably had more than a few dealings/disputes with the tax authorities prior to the sudden raids on multiple locations, seizure of material evidence, interrogations, and arrest of the Manwin CEO, this past week.

I don't believe that Fabian prepares the corporate tax reports himself (or else he is a fool, and I've never accused him of being that), so I have to imagine that most corporate tax strategy is formulated by staff/paid professional accounting experts (I'm a small business, and I still use an accountant for my taxes, although I don't try to manipulate the tax rules by creating all sorts of offshore shell account businesses, hide funds, etc).

Everything probably hinges on how reliable the Manwin informants are, and what (if anything) was uncovered in the raids, interrogations, and follow-up investigations.

Any tax case against a top executive would hinge on whether he/she knew or should have known that the tax advice was illegal.

What will be interesting to see is if anything was discovered that can be turned over to other authorities in Canada and/or US. This could be the tip of the iceberg, or a simple misunderstanding. We'll have to wait and find out which.

Canada is not like the US when it comes to taxes. You rarely do hard time in Canada for not paying up.

So odd that belgian tax officials arrest someone at an airport. I would have thought if that was the modus operandi they would have to do it hourly there. TBH, never heard of many people being arrested on suspicion of flight for personal tax issues. Then again perhaps he dissed tintin or it is one of those bring 'em in and plea bargain, rope-a-dope things. Then again he doesn't look like Ginger or Adriana.

It was the Germans only to "blame", they asked Belgians to arrest a guy, so to avoid diplomatic accident, Belgians done it. Probably Fabian was keeping out of Germany since too many weeks and Germans took offense, as they was investigating his offices and needed him too. Tax evasion is an hot political topic now in Europe and especially in Germany, next year there's elections and Tax evasion is one of the topics... there's a crackdown on swiss bank holders, and parliament doing deals with switzerland.
Take a look at following stuff to understand why to bust some Tax evasion it is now so important even to decide who will win next elections:

Based on past cases, German Tax Evasion Cases very rarely lead to jail. In the majority of cases I'm aware of, it is settled.

One CEO (he was the CEO of the German Postal Service) was tried in a Tax Evasion case. This was a big case, he had to post 4.000.000 ? in Bail.

The end result was a fine and 2 years in Jail, it means parole, so he didn't spend a single day in Jail.

In this case they would've had every reason to give him jail time, because this was a public figure, he was a role model to several hundred thousand workers.

Hard to imagine Mr.Thylmann getting jail time looking at this past case.

On the other hand, Germany made their Tax Evasion laws tougher in the End of 2008 (up to 10 years in Jail).

And as always, the past does not predict the future.

I think people would've had a very hard time predicting the Wesley Snipes Case in the USA, before it happened.

I don't believe this has a big political background.

If you look at the spiegel article, on the left side, you can see that this has been going on for decades. They always bust tax evaders, no matter if there is an election or not.

The Postal Service-Case (Dr.Zumwinkel) I just mentioned, this was part of the case in February 2008.

You can almost call Tax Evasion a German Tradition. Entire Countries (such as Luxembourg, Liechtenstein) made their living from helping German Tax Evaders.

There are plenty of stories about people stuffing Millions of DM (the currency at the time) in their car, and driving to Switzerland with it (when Switzerland still was a safe haven).

If you look at Germany's History, it may not be that difficult to understand why Germans tend to be very keen on Evading/Saving Taxes.

I would say it is business as usual, only difference is that he is in the Porn Business.

I'm also convinced that this is a tax evasion case, not a Porn case as some have suggested.

All articles talked of tax only. No any mention to porn issue. The porn is just an extra gossip spice for journalists to talk about it, but it is not relevant to Tax prosecutors.

However speaking of Germany, there it is strictly prohibited to show explicit porn images on open internet, without put all behind the German Age Verification System. They call it FSK18, and please note even credit card does not count as valid tool for that!
It requires a bank account from which do a test transaction from certain Schufa agency, or a post ident snail mail you get home with a pin.
Now, if you check mydirtyhobby site, it is FSK16 so only topless or censored in free view, and complies with german AVS. However YouPorn , PornHub and other sites every german newspaper lists as owned by Fabian, are FSK18 without AVS and accessible by german citizens in Germany too, so it would be illegal for german companies to own them. Really those sites appear as owned by Canadian or Cyprus or anyway non-german subsidiaries, but if Tax guys will sentence that owner of YouPorn, PornHub is a German company and/or citizen, then that's illegal in Germany at least limited to german viewers who are shown hardcore without AVS.

how many other people got grabbed by a snatch squad today at a belgian airport for personal tax evasion? I would have thought there would be about 3-500 police on standby considering the proximity to Liechtenstein
