    Well sort of....

    http://www.cnn.com/2012/12/05/us/was...ion/index.html

You can possess an oz of it legally, but it's only a state law. It's still illegal under federal law so the police aren't sure what to do about it right now.

Is it a move in the direction of full legalization and control of the substance similar to alcohol? Who knows, but I have my doubts.

They had a story on the news last night that basically said it is legal to have it in your possession, but it will be about a year or so until they have the law in place that makes it legal to sell and buy it. So technically if you buy or sell it you are still breaking the law so i guess for now just don't get caught buying, selling or growing it and you can smoke all you want.

It's good for citizens... they can smoke as they wish.

It's bad for growers and dealers as they will still be in the cross hairs of the feds.

If you're just a smoker though you don't have to worry about getting arrested just for that... or having a bag or bowl on you.

I highly doubt pot will ever become "legal" in the US any time soon.

Obama may not fight the legalization idea too hard, but even he won't push it through.

It's doubtful the next President will do much either, as the GOP doesn't seem too keen on it, and Hillary already stated she wouldn't legalize it.

Washington is starting to see the marijuana tide turning. I predict marijuana will be legal on the federal level before Obama's term is up.

The smoke is heavy in the air here today.

I thought a family of skunks were loose in the neighborhood this morning.

Unless you are of interest to law enforcement for ANY other reason.
It's a situation perfectly crafted for selective enforcement.
