Speaking of theives...
Dont know if you know Codraw of wildfacials.com (really great guy), but he recently had his authoritive email account hacked, for his domain sexwind.com, which was under a hotmail account. (Im not sure if the account had lapsed and fallen into someone elses control, or if it was brute forced.) The domain itself was a piece of shit, but the real concern was that the email accounts under that domain, had authority over ALL his other domains. The theif promptly rerouted the DNS info to bounce the webserver off mydomains.com into a page on Reliable Hosting. On the page he basically copied the original design layout entirely, and changed every single link to go to his dialer. Of course, neither, Networksolutions, ReliableHosting , the sponsor dialertraffic.com , mydomain.com, or anyone else in the whole show gives a flying fuck. Seems it is very hard to prove identity theft, even with the credit card reciepts. Everyone in the chain seems more concerned with protecting the privacy of the theif. Ah well, Netsol did send him to domainmagistrate.com. Although how the hell this is supposed to help anyone, as the new registrant claims to be from Turkey. Needless to say, Codraw is in hell right now, fretting for his livelihood. Moral of the story, watch your asses, and be careful of your email accounts. Good idea to keep them where they cant be brute forced or packet sniffed, you could find everything you've worked for being jacked. --- Comus Thumbs Kicks Ass! http://easyamateur.net/demo Want it? Sage advice. Come to think of it, I have 60+ domains in danger. Better change that shit up. |
