    Why should I keep ICQ?

    I used to love ICQ ...like 15 years ago! Now, it is a major annoyance. I currently keep it open most of the time because I know that many webmasters and affiliate managers use ICQ still. But when I leave it open it constantly flashes back and forth between "available" and "busy" and I constantly see myself pop up on my own computer "Sam Rockhard" is now available. The fucking ICQ messenger makes terribly annoying sounds....links never show up when ppl send them to me....I often miss 3-4 messages at a time because ICQ stalls or cuts out? I get tons of worthless spam in languages that I don't even read. Tons of 3rd world people always want to "be friends" like they are just coming out of the 90's .....COME ON PEOPLE...

    Anyone else have these issues? Anyone else want to say goodbye to ICQ?

    I enjoy Skype IM way more than ICQ...it seems faster and I can manage multiple conversations much easier ....Yahoo IM is ok...I just don't see many webmasters on there....I really like the Google+ chat but Google suspended my Google+ profile and I don't know if I can still use the chat or not. Any other good IMs out there?

      there is a extremely slow movement to skype

          I hate ICQ too, but you can cut the sounds, and notifications. As for the missing messages... yeah, I just missed a big one last week that caused me to miss over 5 days of something I wanted to be working on. Anyway, now I'm paranoid when people don't answer back right away... "Did you get that?".

                          I made the mistake to install icq on my android .. for almost 2 weeks i wasn't aware that i was online on my tablet when i was off my pc .. i lost some major clients over that. "I already sent you the .. " I hate it .. Now I appreciate more the old email.

                              Yeah, I did the same thing. Thank god I just pissed people off and didn't loose any biz because of it. Now I make sure I log out completely when I'm done using it on my tablet or phone.

                                  I barely open icq anymore. I hate it, but there's always somebody who wont communicate any other way so I keep it installed.

                                  Fuck skype too. Im an email person. If you want to hear my voice, call me... on my phone.

                                      I've never used Skype to talk or cam...strictly use for IM. I don't think anyone ever expects you to cam with them as far as webmaster stuff goes.

                                              I'm not sure why people always think ICQ is so bad. It never crashes for me, never gives me any problems, and I've turned off sounds and notifications.

                                              The problem with Skype is there are too many noobs on it.
