When i opened a clips4sale account and put some videos on it, i got a mail from clips4sale to upload the model-id`s and modelreleases... i mailed them back that it was not for them to keep/store/etc... because they are not the producers of the content and that i didn`t want to send it to anyone but me...

Well yes you should always do the model release, picture of their ID and 2257 info but I'm sure half of stores on there don't do that at all

I estimate that 90% of the porn on the Internet today has no release or copies of ID.

Of course i have all modelreleases and model id`s! But...
I refuse to send them to 3rd parties. I am the one who keeps and have to keep all 2257 info... because I am the producer and i own the work... no one else. I will never send such sensative information. I will never send copies of pasports of other people to others.

2257 is a US law not an international law and countrys have diff laws on pornography You should read up or get legal advice about what laws you should abide by in your own country

This creates a merchantability issue in the USA -- these images, if explicit (§2257) or simulated sex (§2257A) require ''documentation'' to be legally merchantable as "fit for the use intended."

Solution: Not for sale in the USA or take actions not to break your own laws to provide the documents.

I/we give you permission to disclose my/our data to all buyers and sellers of my/our images ... (That will go over well.)

To this end you would need to provide a copy of the person(s) identification with the person(s) names and identity document registration number visible -- the person(s) address could be redacted (blacked out). That is the only way to protect yourself in this situation if you are in the EU or Canada too from what I understand.

And 2257 is an American law. You can put up pictures of your wife barebacking a stranger for 50 bucks perfectly legally in the UK with no 2257.

Clips4sale does not need your 2257 documentation!

The only one who needs to put documentation available for inspection is the owner/producer of the work.

Clips4Sale can make a statement on their site that they are not the primary producers/owners and can put the adres/contact information on it`s site where
the authorities can find the documentation of that producer.

THEY do not "receive" the records...that just need to know where you keep yours.
They have NEVER asked for mine...if you didn't fill out your info, they may have asked for THAT...

I've never had any sort of issue with clips4sale as a storeowner, never been asked to present IDs or anything but I did sign a statement that I maintain all 2257 required documentation and gave the custodian info. That said only a complete moron would not maintain IDs and model releases...I did that even before 2257, it protects you.

they may be asking for that info as proof that you actually own the content, though they are very bvery good about removing stores with unlicensed content its still an ongoing issue

Having been with c4s for many years I can say that neil is one of the all around best people I do business with in this biz always on time with payments, always fixes any issues promptly, the split is by far the best in the biz and he personally takes my calls when I call, and Im not even a top 50 store.....

Nothing but praise for c4s and Neil

I've never been asked ANY time since 2004 when I first started with c4s to present any id's or paperwork.
So some situation must have caused them to ask you...it does NOT seem to be the "norm".
