    The GCHQ (the UK's NSA) is also collecting everyone's communications. I bet Putin jealous over all this stuff.

          All major governments have the ability to do this. It's called spycraft. We pump millions into our intelligence agencies, MI5, MI6... What the fuck do you think these people do? Read the newspaper?

                                  It's called "CSE" in Canada. It's been around about as long as the NSA has.

                                          Yes, but the difference is that Echelon or even Carnivore couldn't store data in real-time on everyone for 100 years.
